A lot of people get caught up in copy catting and doing the same thing others in their field are doing. In a lot of cases you want to do the opposite.

By standing out and being the pink elephant who's noticed you'll be unique and definitely the one thought of when need product/service you offer.

Like I said by even being different and looking around at what others are doing in your field and do the opposite you will be unique and succesful if done right.

Plus you can learn a lot from other business fields and see how you can adapt it to yours.

Look at the drive thru. Started as a restaurant, then a drive in and then a drive thru and chances are that guy go it from the banks drive thru and figured out how to get that into his fast food places minus shooting the food through the tube hopefully.

Ahead of most of the herd? Being all those colors, it sounds like she IS most of the herd.

I get what you're saying about not following the crowd, but doing the opposite for the sake of being different isn't always the best course. You want to stand out for the right reasons, not the wrong ones.

He is right for wanting to stand out for the "right reasons", however historically speaking, someone first had to be wrong according to 99% of their society before they were eventually able to be right.

and absolutely you can have great success and save a lot of time not reinventing but improving upon on.
