I normally use my brand name as my pen name but do not really think it makes much difference at all.

That's right Tommy, to a degree.

I think it isn't so much that a good pen name leads to more success, as much as a bad pen name leads to failure.

For example, a name like Ace Johnson may be more respected for sports niches, but not so much for gardening.

With that being said, what really counts is how good your information/product is. I guess odd names may resonate in a certain way, and have the advantage of NOT drawing a conscious link to anything else.
