Should I Sell Six Figure Bizz Opp Site On Flippa, Digital Point, Ebay?

I'm starting over from scratch. I have a bizz opp site that's made me over 400k over the past 5 years. To this day it still get's over 500 visitors a day.

Any one have any experience with selling bizz opp/make money type sites on flippa,dp,ebay?

My friends in the industry are probably too cheap to give me what I want for it...

Or maybe not...

  • Ebay is mostly cookie cutter type of sites. A few years back, I used to buy and sell legit online businesses there. Now, buyers have to look at 500 cookie cutter amazon/adsense sites with wild income claims, just to get to one legit business.

I know I as a buyer no longer visit ebay for legit businesses.

DigitalPoint does have some experienced webmasters who know the value of good sites. But, it has the reputation of being a very CHEAP BST forum. With that being said, I would still give it a shot.

Obviously, Flippa would be the best bet. In fact, that is about the only place left where you can find legit businesses without to much clutter.

Thanks for your help earlier, btw.

This is a big reason why we wrote our site for sale analysis app (Website Flipping made Effortless by FlipFilter ). Originally, we included ebay, but later ended up removing it as

11% of all listings were non 'cookie-cutter' sites.

This went down to 1.4% when you removed sites that had no revenue, no traffic or were aged less than 3 months.

Looking at the signs, I'd also guess a significant number of the 1.4% left were scams as many seemed a little too good to be true!

Flippa does has scammers, but significantly less than anywhere else and is probably best for a public sale.

For a private sale, I think user 'LMC' may be your best bet.

      Best of Luck!

No problem. I texting with a Guru right now that says he'll have a buyer for me. We shall see. I was checking out Flippa earlier. It looks like that may be my back up plan.

So long as you can document the income produced, Flippa would be the best and probably most safest place to do a transaction of that size.

Yep, that makes sense. I'm gonna start putting documentation together for it. Thanks.

Don't go through Flippa for this site, and don't even think about Ebay or DP. You need a proper broker.

For a site with that level of revenue you'll be far better off with someone who can negotiate price for you, help with the legalities, get in contact with solid investors and so on.

You'll get more from the sale, and be a lot safer.

LMC is very experienced with broking and has a lot of major deals under his belt, so you'll be in safe hands with him.

Also, another broker I've heard good reports about is Quiet Light brokerage. Worth checking out: Internet Business Brokers and Website Brokers | Quiet Light Brokerage

Wow. It's a good biz. I suggest you to undertake an offline deal rather than an online deal. Newspaper classified ads should do the job.

Or, if you really want to go the online way, I suggest you use SEDO.com (they offer brokers) and escrow.com.

    Be safe and profit!

Definately use flippa - you actually get serious bidders on that site and no time wasters

Yes, but there are a high percentage of scammers on Flippa too.

That hasn't been my experience. I've honestly found it to be about 50/50 during the inquiry stage.

When you're selling sites with a sale value of less than $10K, it's not such a bother to weed out the 50% who are time wasters or scammers.

But, if you plan to sell something for a decent amount, at the very least you need robust negotiation and legal protection.

Flippa is certainly better than Ebay or DP, but for a significant sale, you need proper representation in my view.

I'm definitely not going to rush and sell the site, so it looks like I have some research to do and some contacts to make. Thanks for the tips Kezz and Karan.

Try some private broker, that will be your best bet.

If you don't want to go that way, go Flippa. At DP or eBay, you almost have a negligible chance of selling and thus listing there would be a waste of time and energy.

    Cheers,
