The largest social network, Facebook offer very different ways to build your brand and promote it socially.Facebook provides a better platform for publishing rich media.The essential problem with using to publish rich media like videos and photos is that you can't actually use. Facebook provides company to post videos, photos, audio and music, as well as all kinds of interactive content like discussion boards, polls, etc, all of which is easily accessible.
In my opinion facebook provide you better platform to promote your product than .Facebook provide

Facebook offers better, easier integration with your website.
Facebook offers better two-way communication.
Facebook offers a much larger audience.

    There seems to be a lot of discussion on the merits and pitfalls of using Facebook as a platform for promoting business.

    I personally am not interested in paying for ads on Facebook.

    But on the upside, the E-Commerce program I use, works seamlessly with Facebook.

    I just created a fan page and added the products from my website which I choose to promote, plus I have added a product photo album.

    Just started using it early this week, so don't know any results atm.

      These days face book is a preferred place by many to promote their business. People have realized that its more to it than just personal networking with friends and family.

      Many multinational companies are actively involved in using it as a way to engage their audience.

    Building an email list using Facebook can be an AWESOME way to capitalize on all the traffic there...Start a fan page, make sure your welcome page has opt-in, video, etc.

    Facebook Fan Pages can benefit promotion even better because it's way more targeted on the main product itself rather than merely participating with the social networks. Facebook provides good amount of audience and I believe it's always been effective to use in internet marketing as well.

    I haven't really tried paying for ads on Facebook but some people have gotten a varying degree of results from my understanding. I have had some success with creating a group called Making Money In The New Economy. Where I basically promote my main affiliate program as well as a wide variety of business building tools and resources/memberships and so on and so forth. The group is geared toward persons who wish to become self employed and need someone to show them the ropes and help get them going.
