Hi Warriors! I'm always scouring my newspaper and various women's and consumer magazines to see what I can find in the news that Amazon sells. This weekend I saw an article that after the economic crisis, home safe sales are big right now. People don't want to leave their money in the banks JUST in case. Looks like it's doing well in the search count, too. This is one example of an item they can buy on Amazon. (I'm building a lens about it). Challenge: What else can you see in today's news that you can tie in with a tangible that sells on Amazon? Let's brainstorm some money making ideas - just use today's news online or off and post your findings here. I'll send $50 via PayPal to the best idea! Give me the following: 1.) Where you saw the news idea - what the article or topic was about. 2.) What the search counts show (using the one broad keyword) 3.) Tangibles on Amazon - yes or no? The idea MUST have tangible items for sale on Amazon. IE: If you saw an article about electronic dog fences, you must check to see if anything comes up under electronic dog fences on Amazon. This is a fun way to exercise your niche research skills. I'll keep it open for 48 hours then pick a winner. Tiff |

1.) The Wii Is Still Sold Out - CNET NEWS - Topic discussed the non availability of Wii's online and off including the few that could be found that were expensive bundles like a $500 bundle from Game Stop. Note - from the article I would forecast this Christmas hot seller to be in local papers at some point re: being sold out 2.) Searches 16 million plus for Wii - a few other smaller (4,000 TO 18,000) but respectable numbers for terms like - wii available - where can I buy a wii - cheap wii - preorder wii 3.) Available at Amazon - 150 new and used currently - games etc also available. |

Hi Tiff - here's my idea (you're right - this is a GREAT niche research exercise plus FUN) 1.) Where you saw the news idea - what the article or topic was about. Topic: Songs Of Joy And Peace - News: ABC News, Good Morning America As I watched Yo-Yo Ma explain that to create his new CD album, (to be released tomorrow) he invited his friends to join him by bringing songs of joy, I was inspired. So many people need joy right now. Anyway, then he and James Taylor shared one of the album's songs this morning, Here Comes The Sun. It's online on a video if you go to GMA. As a baby boomer, I remember the song so well and as they played it this morning - joy. With all the news about our economic "crisis" etc. this song is exactly how I feel. I lost money last week. Who didn't? But here comes the sun. No one has to loose their hope. I was so refreshed and inspired when I listened to Yo-yo Ma and James Taylor that I just want to thank you for giving me this exercise to do this morning. 2.) What the search counts show (using the one broad keyword) Not sure about this but I googled the keyword phrase yo-yo ma and got this: Results 1 - 10 of about 1,680,000 for "Yo-yo ma" 3.) Tangibles on Amazon - yes or no? yes - just search Amazon "music" for "songs of joy and peace yo yo ma" Well, that's it. Thanks for the exercise this morning - I needed that ![]() Terri Stallcop |

Hi cash blasters, Yeah, great point. PS I was going to click through to your sites via your sig links, but due to your stance on revealing information I figured it wouldn't be worth it |

The question ask by Tiffany "What else can you see in today's news that you can tie in with a tangible that sells on Amazon?" So you not giving away your top secret money making idea, just what's in the news that relates to products on Amazon. |

The stock market had it's biggest gain ever today so how about money clips? ![]() But in the recent Depression 2.0 climate, I'd suggest ways to store food at home, like food dehydrators or vacuum sealers. |

Great ideas! Sorry if some thought it shouldn't be shared. You always have the option to not compete for the $50. I shared my idea - but my way of thinking is this is stuff to just make a bit of money on, not like it's going to be what I build my online business out of (ie: wall safes). I mainly wanted to help people exercise their ability to use the news to find a little niche they could use to build a lens or Hub Page on and see some earnings from it. Now if I had a brand new idea for some massive money stream - THAT I would hold close to my mind ![]() Tiff ![]() PS - lol Roger. |

Great Stimulator for "searching" for niches. 1. "Illuminated Bible: The Book" an upcoming edition of the Bible due to hit the market later this month. Saw this in the Sunday edition of the La Crosse Tlribune newspaper. 2. 159,000 searches on the keyword phrase that I typed above. Narrow niche..I love it. 3. Is preselling on Amazon, and other affiliate book sales sites. I am currently doing a lense now on this new edition. Thanks for the exercise Tiff! 5Rivers Jim |

Wow! This is so neat to see what all you guys are coming up with! Stuff I would have passed over myself - so now I'm learning to look at all news stories that may not be as blunt as mine and see how they could turn into an Amazon niche product lens. Tiff |

Here's another keyword related to the news story on the iPhone competition: smart phone: 246,000 This story caught my eye because I'm considering getting one of these fancy-schmancy phones sometime in the near future. Would you believe my current cell phone is just a - GASP! - phone?!? No camera, no touch screen, no email or internet capabilities. The G1 has caught my interest, so I'll be checking that out. Anywho... thank you very much, Tiff, for sponsoring this interesting contest (and for tossing some shopping money my way!) |
