What would be a fair price?

I've just realised, I am capable of creating a decent website from scratch, if I put in the work. (I sat and coded a Content Management System, it took me 6 hours, but I was 13, I have much more experience now).

I could create all graphics and buttons myself, and do all the coding, so that the owner of the website could customise the content if they wanted.

What would be a fair price? It would probably take about a week to get a template done, but after that, only a couple of hours to customise it to each customers needs.

If you're just selling a simple startup website with a custom design and unique content (i'm assuming that it's not getting any traffic and/or making any money), you can sell it around the 250 dollar mark.

With a custom CMS, add another 50 to it, tops.

I'd really encourage you to look into outsourcing the work though... You could get the same amount of work done in 1/3rd the time !

Outsourcing is certainly the way to go as you can spend your time being creative and be working on the next money generating product. If you decide to offer it at $250 or whatever the price always end the price with an odd number such as $247. It's a psychological thing that makes us more likely to respond to that price.

Below is a very basic design, with a simple menu on the left, with the content on the right.
The fonts, colour and entire layout are customisable.
I was thinking it could be used by someone wanting a niche site with their articles and reviews on, or maybe someone launching their own product or service.

What would be a fair price for the above site (obviously filled with content, not as-is) including a CMS? I'm guessing a lot lower than the originally quoted $300.

I can also do a basic site with the nav menu along the top, rather than at the side, with the content beneath.
