Disney, Chicken, and Your Success

Something with Col Sanders and KFC Is this...

How many times do you think Colonel Sanders heard no before getting the answer he wanted?

He was refused 1,009 times before he heard his first yes. His spent two years driving across America in his old, beat-up car, sleeping in the back seat in his rumpled white suit, getting up each day eager to share his idea with someone new.

How many people do you think would have gone for 1,009 no's - two years of no's! - and kept on going? Very few. That's why there is only one Colonel Sanders. I think most people wouldn't get passed twenty no's, much less a hundred or a thousand! Yet this is sometimes what it takes to succeed.

If you look at any of the most successful people in history, you will found this common thread: They would not be denied. They would not accept no. They would not allow anything to stop them from making their vision, their goal, a reality.

Did you know that Walt Disney was turned down...

302 times before he got financing for his dream of creating "The Happiest Place on Earth"? All the banks thought he was crazy. He wasn't crazy; he was a visionary and, more important, he was committed to making that vision a reality. Today, millions of people have shared in "the joy of Disney", a world like no other, a world launched by the decision of one man.

Don't let one or a thousand nos be the end. Just know that sometimes it takes no's and mistakes to reach phenomenal success.

I agree some people don't have certain talents or skills. But if you truly know what you have can benefit, help people, and make money. Then don't let 1000 people not doing something tell you you can't.

If you are truly about value and helping people and can make money it's a great thing. I think too often people let friends, family or whoever sometimes make their life decisions. Learn the right knowledge, Take immediate action, and when you reach success-Treat yourself to a bucket of chicken and disney world-lol

Basically don't let others telling you no be the end to your dream if your serious and want it.

Indeed. You can also only imagine how those thousand people who said "no" kicked themselves after they realized just how successful he actually became.

Just to add to this (even more motivational). Walt Disney didn't have to just fight with the banks to get Disneyland built. He had to convince ABC (separate entity) at the time to fund half the park.

On top of that the company that he founded didn't even want to take part in it (the war years were NOT kind to the Disney company). But that didn't stop him. He started a separate company (WED enterprises) and then trademarked his name, which forced the Company "Walt Disney" to pay him a royalty for using the name...

There is a little known story that Walt broke down in the meeting with his board of directors when explaining WHY he wanted to build Disneyland. They finally allowed him to use company resources to FINISH the park.

He also sold his house, used all of his children's school savings, and cashed in part of a family insurance policy to pay for the park. Of course that is probably more than you wanted to know, but what is shows is that come hell or high water Walt Disney was going to build Disneyland (he stated he spent about 20 years dreaming about it).

Bottom line is that if you REALLY want something you are going to have to seriously work to get it. Even those blessed with loads of cash to burn still have a hard time accomplishing their deepest dreams/goals.
