There is a free piece of software called Pamela for Skype.

Welcome to the ultimate Skype add-on tool

It is ver easy to use. If you get the mike/speaker levels right is works great.

What for me ,for record Skype call and video I use IMCapture for Skype imcapture. com

I second Pamela. It should be available by default in Skype.

That version is free, which limits the length you can record in one single file (approximately 10 minutes).

The full version is unlimited, but I'm not sure on the price.

Record Skype Calls – CallBurner

It is not free, but very cheap for the value you will get from it. I have contacted their support team who were very friendly and fast to act.

Highly recommended.

I have tried both Callburner and Pamela, and Callburner wins by a mile! It's far more reliable, and it seems to record in better quality as well. When I used Pamela, there were several occasions when it indicated it was recording, but it really wasn't for some reason or another.

Have you tried Audacity? It's free and is an excellent audio recording and editing software. I have not tried it with Skype.

I used Pamela but since I installed the beta 5 for Skype it doesn't seem to want to load.

Haven't spent any time checking on it tho.
