Hi,

I have a website on my keywords. I've written 10 articles and submitted 5 of them to 8 different article directories. These articles are not about my keywords, but they are in the same category.

For example, if my keywords are dog shirts, my articles are on training your dog, or how to deal with a dog that has a cold.

I would like to re-write these articles taking out the fluff, and put them on my website on a separate page titled something like, resources, further reader...something like that.

Visitors may find those article useful and recommend them, or perhaps the articles will show up in a google search....The pages will also have adsense blocks which could potentially turn into revenue.

Also, by adding these articles over time it will show a steady updating of my website so I can constantly send google a new site map showing growth in my website.....

Just wanted to know if this is a good idea....

    Make a 2nd site about the topic of those articles. Anyway, why did you wrote articles not on your site topic/keywords ?

      My articles are not about my keywords because if they were, the articles would out rank my website. This is my first attempt in making money on the internet and I researched several weeks before I started. I'm not an expert by any means, but I originally started with blogger. I wrote articles on my keywords and my articles would show up first followed by my website...

      Again...I'm not an expert and if I'm wrong please let me know....

    Yes, it is a good idea. You already have most of the work done and anything that brings in more traffic is a chance to make money, right?

    newpatch - you can get your site to rank higher than the articles by giving it more backlinks.

    Actually the article should link back to your site with the appropriate anchor text for the page.

    So if you post an article about dog shirts and post it to 8 different directories with a link back in the resource box to a page on your site about dog shirts, then the page on your site will likely outrank the articles. You might see the articles ranking ahead at first but eventually your website would overtake them.

    Not sure if that's what you were doing or not, but that's similar to what I do and my site always prevails.

      I've been doing the achor text also. With my blogger site I achored the url....I'm new to this so I've since learned to anchor your keywords....

      I'm still experimenting with things to see what works and what doesn't. I will try adding my articles to my website...unfortunately my keywords in Feburary had 33,000 searches. Today I checked the google keyword tool and it now says that my keywords had only 720 searches in March . Not sure if I was drinking when I chose these keywords, but I'm pretty sure I saw 33,000 searches.
