Question About Micro Niche Finder

Hi guys,

I've been giving this software a try the last few weeks and so far it's been great. I do have one question about this piece of software, though, but I guess it's a question about keyword research in general.

I did research on a few keyword phrases and came up with 4 domains that, according to MNF, have a high volume of searches and are easy to rank for. The so called SOC was below 20, or even 10.

When I search for the phrases in Google, though, it still gives me like 500K to 2 million results!

Whats the deal here? Should I go for it anyway or am I missing an important point?

Thank you very much.
-Guy

*EDIT* Wow, it's hard to post a question when 30 seconds later you're almost at the bottom of the page with the 250 new topics every minute

Broad vs Exact match at work here, where your Google results are broad and your MNF results are exact.

    Hey Marty,

Thanks for the support. Both MNF and Google results were broad though.

Google search results with quotes show me:

    14K
    640K(!!)
    14K
    and 11K

None of the top results have the exact keyword phrase in their URL and most of them are sub-pages. Well, I've done the work already so lets see where it takes me

It doesn't matter how many results come up in a search. What matters is the quality of the sites on page one. If the SOC and MOB are low you're probably good to go.

An exact match domain name is also a big advantage. I recently put up two new websites that were both on page one in about a week and a half with minimal backlinking. I found a phrase that had low SOC, low MOB, and a .net with the exact keyword phrase. Once I put the sites up I submitted rss feeds and did a little social bookmarking and it wasn't long before they were on page one. A little more backlinking and these sites should be in the top 3 results easily.

That sounds good Adam! I think these 4 I found are pretty solid too. I used Traffic Travis to do some front page research and all results come up as Easy.

This is the first time I've found quality domains to work with, now lets hope the pages convert!

Whats the quality of the backlinks on page 1?

Unfortunately I didn't go that far with my research. When I saw them on MNF I just went for them cause I got too excited.

Everything I've done so far gives me a green light so I'm just gonna wait and see. Do some decent backlinking and hope for the best (and change the sites when they turn out not to convert at all)

Not looking at the backlinks is a big mistake... Some niches, like the poker niche for example, they have like 150 backlinks but them backlinks out rank people with 50k. You should of really look at the backlinks.

Honestly? I don't even know how to check the backlinks a site has. I know how to check the amount, but not where they're coming from..

I'd appreciate it if you could explain the process to me.

Thanks for everyone's help so far.

Thats great.. I've read so many reports, WSOs, you name it but I've never heard about this tool or even to check the quality of your competitors websites.

    Thanks for this

it doesn't check the quality but tells you the links pointing to the site, your have to look at the sites and make your mind up about the quality.
