Hey Warriors, Call me ignorant or whatever you want but I just don't see the point of using Twitter. I mean c'mon! You have to be a total loser to be interested in what other people are doing with their day right? I know I could careless with what you do with your time! I'm trying to understand why everyone and their grama is jumping on board with it? - Is it the new way to get JV's? - Is it for social status? - Is it for lonely people who want to make friends? - Is it a bunch of losers following each other and "tweeting"? I don't really mean to be rude or offend anyone... Just voicing my personal opinion while trying to be funny at the same time. So tell me... What am I really missing out on by not using Twitter? Flame away! Thanks, |

Ok, so it's a new social form of list building? Blah... I'd still rather build a list the traditional way. Still not convinced it's worth my time. Plus it seems so ridiculous to post about what you do with you time. Every hour of the day... Let's see... Oh right now I'm posting on the warrior forum sipping my coffee. Whoo! Then I'm going to make a phone call to one of my friends about last night Football game. ...BORING! |

It's an interesting take especially given your signature file - maybe try it and then see what you think? Oh btw I arrived here by way of someone tweeting on Twitter about it - so you see you got the benefit of Twitter without even knowing it :-) |

It does sort of remind me of when people come here like "Please, tell me how I can make $100 a day online?" And their signature line says "Click here to make $1000 a day online guaranteed!" Twitter is a different type of social networking, but it's not that different than Facebook. If you hate it, don't do it |

Here's one thing I still don't get about twitter. How do the majority of you who use it actually see any of this stuff? Do you really sit there refreshing the page or what? By phone? Surely the by phone is not the majority...or is it? I just don't remember to even look at my twitter page for weeks so I just don't see how you even see these messages... :-) |

Aaron, seriously, if you give Twitter a try and genuinely put a little time into it, I think you will see big rewards. I am sitting here writing for a ghostwriting now that I found on Twitter. I had two writing inquiries today, from people on Twitter. And people like Willie Crawford, Frank Kern, John Reese, and Joel Comm, who are very focused on making money, would not be on there regularly posting if they were not getting an ROI. Here's a free tip: Post regularly about your business and what you are doing with your business. If you have a lot of followers, the results will be phenomenal. |

Hi, Quote:
a) having to post often b) having to post boring, useless info that answers the question presented by twitter - 'what are you doing' So therefore you could post irregular, infrequent tweets that - 1) make people think 2) have great value 3) create conversation (that might end up being credited back to the source) 4) leave them wanting more 5) aren't promotional on the surface It would be interesting to see what could happen if someone only took five minutes out of every other day just to do that... Just like on every blog, website, social site etc...the majority will follow the well-trodden path, imitating each other, looking for ways to get the most number of words out there with the least amount of thought and effort. Others will do the opposite. Just another microcosm. Another battle of quantity vs quality. Conformity vs differentiation. More importantly - what's next? Where has twitter taken online communication and what comes next? Can it be narrowed down and 'niched'? What parallel opportunities does it's success create? Can the concept be twinned with others - (Digg-type ratings for most popular tweets)? In what type of interesting ways could it be monetised for mainstream or for specific niches - or in what type of ways can the use of it be monetised/incentivised (within the site itself) for the users? Whoever can predict these and act upon them can possibly have themselves some busy sites. | |

Man. I hate posting this, but I'm going to admit that I really didn't get it until reading this particular thread. For those of you who have posted are there any particular courses you'd recommend about best uses of Twitter? I just canceled out of Howie Schwarz's Twitter system, because I really was NOT getting it. I feel like I've just had one of those "aha" moments that sometimes take me a LONG time to get to. |

An affiliate of ours just "tweeted" about our product with his affiliate link... One tweet $500 commission check... and rising People follow him to know what he is up to by the minute so i assume its a pretty effective way to affiliate market as well just like sending an email blast to a list but without the filter problems. |

The thing about Twitter is that no matter how invested you are in being "too cool for Twitter", sooner than later you'll come around. THEY ALL DO... And guess what? Then they have a blast with it and they're hooked. Resistance is futile. You HAVE been assimilated. Tweet.... Tweet.... Tweet... Besides, when you have erudite twilosophers like me brightening the Twittersphere with my nonsense, how can you lose? Err.. never mind that last question... Brian |

I really like twitter. I feel like it is a great way to get followers and a great way to see what is working with others. Now, at first I did think it was a bit pointless until I have a couple sales from twitter. Its an easy way to get a targeted audience.

So is Aaron not partaking in this thread any more? Are you convinced yet, Aaron or have you dug your heels in and refuse to Twitter despite the possible extra profits? I'm sure you're not that short-sighted or belligerent. Go on, fess up, you've just been Twittering by yourself haven't you? If you've just joined, then welcome to the club. Peter |

I was one of those non believers for a while. But I figured that it won't hurt to try it. It does not take much time and it is yet another form of marketing. And as some of you have already said, it does bring in great sales. It is also very effective to get some outsourcing done if you are in need of it. I am sure that there are many options that I have not even figured out yet, but one thing is clear. A massive amount of people is active on twitter and once you sign up and make a few posts you will immediately get followers. It does not take much. |

It's not just a way to build a list - you forge relationships this way. I use it as a "Water cooler" of sorts. I work from home so I don't have colleagues. It's the quickest, most convenient way to "get to know" people on the 'net and see how they tick. And yes, I do get traffic too. I've gotten ideas through it, gotten to know other business owners, etc. I didn't get it at first either. I thought, why do people care "what I'm doing". The answer is - they do - and they expect that you'll care about them, too. This gives twitter a personal accent that traditional list building often fails at.

Okay, I'm following you, Aaron. Twitter allows you to socialize while marketing. The Warrior Forum is much more focused. I went on Twitter to ask for help with my son's math problem and got a whole bunch of answers. The social interaction that I miss from no longer being in an office...I get there. |
