I'd suggest not linking to your optin box, but rather putting that box on each page so people can't miss it. By the way, nobody wants your newsletter, they did back in the 90s, but not now. So offer them something they do have an interest in: a special report, pdf, mp3, a video series, a teleseminar workshop series, etc. Of course, once they do optin you will followup with them to keep in contact to build the relationship.
