American Offline opportunity for Telecommuters (or for non-Americans)?

Hello Warriors,

All this 'Offline' sensation in the IM world has now caught my attention as well. However, I'm easily 18 flying-hours away from the USA. And, it looks like the 'Offline' scene is pretty hot in America right now.

I was wondering if there was any way I could enter this space too.

One way is to make cold calls.
Another to partner up with an American (essentially someone who compliments my skills).
Outsource the prospecting work to someone with direct access to the target customers.
Are there any other ways I can foray into this with?

Also, is this do-able? Will the offline business owners be receptive enough to hire someone who they've never even seen?

I hope to get some big nuggets out here...

If I'm not mistaken Bangalore is a pretty large

There actually are ways to do what you're talking about... I list several options for people interested in getting started in offline marketing but aren't quite set up completely themselves. check out the sig file.

You really DON'T want to be making cold calls. People don't buy from strangers and cold calling means you're a stranger. There are better ways. If you're not sure about what they are read up on selling services first

Coming in cold without anything to offer...it's going to be a challenge for you to find anyone who is doing well to take you up on this. That's just the honest truth.

Outsource the prospecting work to someone with direct access to the target customers.

If someone has direct access to clients, why would they give them to you? I thik you may be talking about hiring telemarketers and that's going to cost you?

Like I mentioned above, people don't do business with strangers, You're going to need to build credibility and believability first.

This is the truth about this wonderful niche.

      It can be done.

I've had clients from the other side of the world.

It takes a lot more effort to capture a client long distance unless that prospect is a referral (there's a hint...start by getting all the referrals you can).

When you get an inquiry if you get your prospect on the phone more or less immediately that will massively increase your chances of getting hired.

You can use personalized direct mail and email to generate leads.

We go into more detail on those methods at offlinebiz.com.

The bottom line is you're going to have to do a lot more prospecting/lead generating work to get a single client.

When you do get a client you want to make sure that getting referrals from them if they're happy with your service is part of the deal you make.

      Kindest regards,
      Andrew Cavanagh
