CNN Alerts - How to Stop them?

All of a sudden CNN Alerts keep arriving in my in-box, and I never signed up for them.
They look official with the CNN logo, but come from this brain-dead moron:

CNN Alerts [Cheryle-yrotaceh@networkorlando.com]

..no way to unsubscribe that I see, unless you sign up for an account and manage it -- just what everyone wants to do, right.

Any ideas on how to end these?

    Hi Diana,

I don't think they're legitimate - I think they are cleverly disguised spam. I received a few and just Junked them.

    Kindest regards,
    Karl.

Thank goodness! I thought I was the only one getting these stupid things I have so many different news alerts that come to my mailbox each morning (easier than reading the paper :p ) that I almost started clicking on links a few days ago.

Same problem here too... no way to unsub, and the darn things keep coming thicker and thicker - grrrr.

It's designed to spread a fake version of flash player by saying it needs to be installed when you visit the links

Wow, Warriors to the rescue -thanks all!

Geez, I like CNN for some news, but wow - that's a lot of alerts, dudes

I've set my email to pull these out and delete them, but some still make it through. I'll tinker around in there and block the ip or something.

And glad it's not just me, too. I get some alerts, like Google's, but couldn't figure out what was going on, as I did not sign up for CNN's.

FYI, those emails are not actual alerts being generated by CNN; they're spam designed to get you to click through and download malware.

Do what you would do with any other spam. Report it so your ISP can work on ways to keep it out of your inbox.

And DON'T click on the links in it.

With gmail they've wound up in the spam folder from the beginning, except
for a single one that I think made it through to the inbox. They were new to
me too so when I saw the first one in spam I opened it but it obviously
belonged where it was and I haven't bothered with any of the others.
