I cant really answer but what I'd do is head over to DP and SP marketplaces and compare the sites on sale there and see what the market is paying.

DP and SP are the main 2 places where established sites are sold so have a look around and see what others are doing.

I see you have affiliate links on your websites. How much revenue has each site generated?

The political site is getting like $20 a month and the other one is getting about the same. I am just trying to work on my other site so that is why I am thinking about selling them.

  • It might not really be worth it to sell if they aren't grossing much revenue.

The important thing to realize when selling is: what is the buyer getting out of it?

500 visits a day is a lot, it could be potentially valuable. Why is your list so small if you get so many visitors?

Unless you are really hard up for cash, I'd try and see if you can get any amount of profit from those sites, it would teach you and profit you.

Money isn't real, George. It doesn't matter. It only seems like it does.

Think paul already hit it pretty close. I sold a bunch of my affiliate sites and there were always two questions, how much does it make and how much traffic. Though could be tough to get 12-18 worth revenue, depends on the sites.

Yes, I agree Ron. If you're going to sell your site in the Sitepoint marketplace, I would see that very challenging, if not downright impossible to get 12-18 months of advance revenue.

Savvy buyers are at that marketplace. The one advantage of Sitepoint is that there are plenty of eager buyers but always for the right price which is usually 6-10 months of advance income.
