TIP: Why the first 25-30 words of your WSO or Products & Services listing should get full attention
My tip is this: Be mindful of the post title hover tool tip
When people see a thread title they like, they will often hover their mouse over it for a moment and a little yellow box will pop up displaying the first 25-30 words of the post.
It's obvious when you think about it, but it's so obvious that we often overlook it when considering what to write.
For example, if you write a little intro sentence before your big bold red headline, it's the intro sentence that will show up in the tooltip box before the headline. If the impact of your offer is in the headline and not the first 30 words of your post, you may not have the desired effect.
Another point I have realized is that content inside quote tags does not appear.
I saw one offer that was wrapped completely in quote tags, and not one word of the actual offer showed up in the tool tip.
I suspect that often the tooltip may influence our decision on which threads we click on, while we barely register the effect it has on us.
However I also suspect that offers with the most intriguing first 25-30 will encourage the highest number of people to click to read more.
