Can Anybody Help??

Hi Guys

Sorry to post this but I am trying to claim my website with Alexa.

To anyone who knows this, I can do this in 2 different ways:

1) Upload this file to the root directory The root directory of your website is the directory where your home page is located.

2) Or, add this meta tag to the home page of marketingwithjames.com:

All well and good if you understand this stuff

My website is a WordPress Blog and is hosted with Hostgator.

Can anyone give me specific details of exactly where to go to enter the code which I am given.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

    James, the root directory is simply the main directory of your site. If you use FTP you will see it has a load of files in it, including the WP folders. Don't go into any of the folders, just upload the file directly into that main directory.

    You may also be able to just copy the meta code into the 'header.php' of your theme. I'm sure I've done this before but then if you change themes you'll have to re-enter it into the new one.

    I never did this, but I have always had Alexa ranking for my sites.

    Anyway, I suggest you just take FileZilla or any other FTP program and upload the file to the primary folder, and you should be fine.

    it is simple and not difficult as u said ..u just have to upload the file in to main directory if you using ftp.i think my idea help u
