Part 2 - Build a Blog Empire For Free - No Excuses!

by Zeus66

This is a follow-up to a thread I started a couple weeks ago: http://www.warriorforum.com/main-int...o-excuses.html

I've been testing Amazon's new integration with Blogger to see how fast I could add Amazon affiliate links to my Blogger blog posts. I'm totally blown away! This is really cool and much faster to do than I expected. I think this might be a great way to make money from your army of Blogger blogs.

Here are two short videos showing how to get it all set up. Please don't send me tons of PM's about this. I just don't have time to help people with every step. At least not for free!

If you do everything step-by-step as shown in that first thread and these two videos, this can be a nice little money maker. Don't overthink this - JUST DO IT!

Nice, John, real nice. Your Build a Blog Empire thread is closing in on 10,000 views. That's amazing. It just shows how useful your posts are. This is a nice supplement to that one.

    Good job, my friend.

    John,

You keep giving this great information away. I really like your suggestion about not "over thinking". It can't get any simpler than this.

Action is all that is required and now I'm going to do just that.

You're giving me too much work to do when it's already past midnight here. Finally started my first blog following your "rules" and I will be sure to add amazon to it in a week or two.

If you do those blogs for me, I won't send pancakes and fries, I'll come over and make them for you.

On a serious note, finally finished my first blog around 1 in the morning last night. Hope to get another one done tonight.

In your 2nd video you mentioned a cool feature with linking. You're right! Thats REALLY cool! Just curious though, how much do you earn from these blogger sites? If they're good money, I think I might get my outsourcer to make a bunch of them =)

Edit: I'm already making microniche sites, is it still worth going into this?

Well, I think read the first thread I started on this topic. This is really not a long-term business model, but rather a way to make some extra cash. I would want to build my own properties for the long run, not rely on Blogger.

This is exactly the way to think about this plan. I want to repeat that this should not be viewed as a PRIMARY source of income, but rather as a way to bring in some extra cash every month. Your core focus should remain on whatever your long-term method for a full-time income is.

Because you can't use free WP (.org) for anything commercial like this. And the time you'd spend setting up separate installations of WP, choosing themes, setting up plug-ins and widgets, etc. is much better spent using something already set up (like Blogger) with lots of built-in flexibility. In the same amount of time, I could probably set up 2 of these on Blogger for every 1 you could set up using WP. Maybe even 3-to-1.

CS Maybe the above quote from Zeus will answer your question about why to use blogger rather than wp. Yes you may loose some bloggers but you save time. Maybe you could try a few of each.

I have been doing this same thing using Wordpress and for me I prefer it. The install is now down to a copy of the whole directory on the server, an update to one file (wp-config) and then doing a find and replace on the SQL script. It takes me 10-15 minutes start to finish when I'm focused.

Overall, as you say Blogger is cheaper (free) and probably still slightly quicker, but Wordpress means you own the content and no-one can do anything to it. For me those advantages outweigh the small cost of hosting.

There's a good tutorial here on how to get started with a hosted Wordpress blog: Get Started with a new Website » Link Building Tools - Free Search Engine Promotion

Blogger or Wordpress. Its a personal choice. The most important is to get started and make some money. Woohoo.

      Hello Peter:

I suggest considering the new WordPress 3.0 which is due to be released next month which will combine the existiing WordPress with the MU (multi-user) version. The list of changes/improvements can be found here: Version 3.0 WordPress Codex .

Running multiple blogs will be much easier, and you will be able to make changes to all of your blogs all at the same time.

Zeus, thank you so much for sharing this idea. I've lurked at the WF for a long time but decided to register just so I could thank you myself. If I can make a few hundred bucks every month to pay my electric bill and buy some groceries, I'd be thrilled. The biggest thing in my opinion will be the domino effect of making some decent money online, which will give me the encouragement to work harder on my big money ideas.

For the folks wondering where to get free PLR, just Google for it! I've downloaded over 130,000 free PLR articles, plus several ebooks and videos. Heck, I may use the money I get from this to fund some of my other business endeavors that I needed some money to advance on. Anyway, thanks again for contributing so much.

p.s. For the folks asking "Why Blogger and not Tumblr or Wordpress.com?" Tumblr is search engine kryptonite. Nice blogs, but Google hates them and I know several bloggers who ditched Tumblr for that reason, plus even though they allow Adsense, it doesn't display well on their pages. Wordpress.com does not allow commercial use of their free blogging service and I've read that Google does treat Blogger sites better because it's their property. I believe it because I've stumbled upon lots of Blogger sites over the years while Googling for things, plus they make it super easy to add Adsense to their blogs.

Yep, that does suck. There are a handful of states that you can't be an affiliate for Amazon in. But you have many options. They just won't be as easy to implement as the Amazon-Blogger integration makes it. You can try Chitika.com for Adsense-like contextual ads. Apply at Commission Junction for a diverse array of product vendors you can affiliate with. Even Clickbank will work for some PLR niches. Don't give up!

You could always sign up for a mailbox with Earth Class Mail (I'm not affiliated with them) and get a Google Voice number with a corresponding area code. That should be enough to get an affiliate account. ECM has mailboxes in several states (including Oregon for shopping online tax free!).

Hi Zeus well according to Cdarklock your the man when it comes to blogging on blogger

Well I have a question which is how can I incorporate adsense anywhere in blogger (specifically after the first two lines of my blog content)

Ive been googling this since yesterday and still no joy as the same method keeps coming up but not working on my blog .The content is all ready and this is the final stage but its a big obstacle in the way.

In addition I've got a Thread on ''the step by step guide to blogger '' for my fellow newbies here on wf.

But I need to be able to do this adsense placement so I can complete guide.

Thanks John for some incredible information. I've been so fed up with all the "guru" crap that I've bought this year. So finding your information has been a breath of fresh air. I love putting blogs together and now I have an excuse to feed my addiction. Also, I had as it turned out about 15 Blogger blogs that I had started over the years. Most of them had been deindexed but I've taken your information and today I got six of them up and running (one still needs to be indexed). I've even set up a plan of action for when I need to monetize them. My plan is have 50 of them completed by September 30th. I've got thousands of PLR articles, so I now have a great reason to use them. Turns out a lot of them were well written. Who knew! I'm also going to put up the same number of WP blogs and see what kind of results I get. Kind of a competition! By the way, I bought Zombie Blogging - too much fun!

Post a few (real ) comments in the forum.

I have a blogger blog that I have had for some time (over a year) with three posts. It was deindexed or never got indexed. Anyway, I added 22 posts, pinged it at Pingomatic, burned at Feedburner, added Google Analytics and submitted it to Google Tools two days ago and it still isn't indexed. I've seen some of my WP blogs take up to 4 or 5 days to get index. It just depends. Keep going.

Mohammad Afaq recently gave away a pack of 7900 PLR articles, search for threads he's started and you should find it.

Other than that, typing "free PLR articles" into any search engine will get you somewhere. You have to click through several results to find actual free PLR, because a lot of the time you'll find sites where you can get a free sample of the PLR articles people are selling, and you don't usually get PLR to the sample.

Alternately, there are a lot of inexpensive PLR sites where you can download massive collections of articles, but doing a new search for free PLR leverages the "Query Deserves Freshness" (QDF) rule in Google and will be more likely to get you recent PLR that hasn't been used to death all over the net.

You can use any TLD but here is a clue. Look up as many long tail keywords as you can think of that have a good number of searches to them each month. Count the number of .com, .org, .net .info and .anythingelse on the first two pages.

I think you will find it very rare that you will see a .info there.

Most of the more experienced marketers say they have tested the .info domains and they are harder to get to page one and even harder to keep them there.

I suspect that if you can drive traffic to the domain name, it doesn't matter what the TLD is, but if you want Google ranking, it may not do you any good.

      Just my thoughts,

      Buck

I will warn you that if you post more than 30 at a time in rapid succession, even scheduling them out using Blogger, Google will start making you enter Captcha phrases. I had this happen when I started going over 25 articles. Rather annoying.

And thank you so much for adding this information about Amazon. How much easier could that be! Thanks so much! Now if I could just drive traffic to the sites!

Could you give me an idea of how much you can make with this method? Let say I build 100-200 sites, how much income will this aprox. make. Around 50? 500?

What a quick solution to procrastination and inertia!

I do a couple of these and 'feel' like getting back to work on other stuff being neglected. It does it for me. If I'm dragging my feet with anything I just need a boost of 'accomplishment' from somewhere else to make me want to get more work done. So I do a couple of these sites because they are so quick to do, and pretty soon I have several other things done from my 'todo list' as well.

    Thanks, John.

Really good work. I embedded these videos on one of my older blog posts that's still popular about using Amazon to find trending and hot products. Now my readers will know how to install their links.

    Thanks for the quality content........

I make about $30 a month from the twenty blogs I've set up this way, pretty consistently.

Those 20 blogs took me about two hours. I invested zero time in traffic generation and didn't edit or vet the articles - just grabbed them and threw them in the blogs. Niches were effectively random, and I don't even remember what they were.

I have not touched or even looked at these blogs for over a year. I just stuck AdSense and Amazon on them, and left.

If you do the math, that basically means each one makes me an average of a nickel a day. And nickels add up. These blogs essentially pay for my HostGator and E-Junkie accounts, with a little left over that could cover a few domain registrations every year.

So with two hours work, all on free services using free content, and about 60 days percolation time - "I have no money for IM" becomes "I am paying for my domain, hosting, and product delivery entirely from my business profits."

This is not a sustainable long-term primary income... but a domain, hosting, and E-Junkie account are sufficient to start building one.

I set up sites with the same concept on self-hosted WordPress blogs. They make me money, and once they do and I see a decent amount of traffic I start building them out with original content.

I had half a dozen blogs set up exactly the way I laid out in the OP that all made some money. Like Leslie, I then converted them to either WP or using my own HTML templates and hosted them myself on my own domains. There's just one possible use for this method. Use the free Blogger platform to test your niche/keywords/monetization scheme. If you see any traction at all, move that puppy to a more robust platform and grab a relevant domain.

So whilst your doing this. You are doing no traffic generation at all?

If you move your site, do you have to redo it again and start from scratch or is there a way to move it entirely and keep your rankings?

I'm new and using test cases sounds interesting, just wondering about transition issues to a more substantial form, once something works.

Also how safe are these PLR schemes, have spent some time looking for free PLR, but many of these sites seem rather dodgy, gave an email adress (hotmail) a few times, but never a response, got the impression that they might be looking to plant Trojans. Any thoughts or experiences on this?

I recently read the first thread to this system.
It seems like a great idea to use as a way to generate some pocket cash.

I have two questions for anyone who cares to answer:

    1. How is this system holding up since the recent Google Panda thing?

    2. Is there anyone out there who started this system from the very first thread and can give us an update on how they are doing?

i can't use adsense because they blocked my account ( second time).
So with the amazon is it a good way to monetize the blog or with clickbank?
in that case it is better to search first for good products, see if they are hot in alexa or trends and then search for PLR right?

    something like this would work?
    Logitech Wireless Solar Keyboard K750
    Bit Hdtv
    New Psoriasis Treatments
    The Loophole

would be very helpful to know what i am missing or doing wrong.. because i don't have conversions in clickbank or any other site..
