How are you timing your presentations that are video to line up perfectly with the sound track?

What I mean is... for example... the word "Free" pops on the screen at the same moment the beat of the music. It might be a heartbeat the the word gets bigger and smaller right on the beat.

How you doin that?

Expand your video and soundtrack out so you can see the peaks
in the sound levels clearly. Then position your effects to coincide
    with the peaks.

It's a finicky process. You'll get better and more accurate with
    practice.

    Count the beat..

Tap with your finger or foot and count how many beats you need for the image to last on screen.

Well, that's how I do it.

If your editing software lets you tap a key to put a marker on the timeline, tap that key in time to the beat, so you'll only have to go through the video once. If you're going to have whatever it is fade in, have the maximum opacity in line with the beat marker, and work backwards to the fade in.

Just keep the FREE up there all the time. Sooner or later it will hit the right portion of music.

  • Spearce beat me to the punch. Most of the comprehensive video editors today allow you to add markers on desired areas in the audio timeline. Really helpful with the timing you're planning to execute.
