The Ultimate Upsell Funnel?

Experts like Ryan Deiss, Belcher, or the Nitro Boys well tell you that you need a few one-click upsells post sale.

The nitro guys found that you can have *3* upsells after the initial purchase.

1.) Upsell #1 - Bucket Offer - All your other front end products (at a huge discount) that are related to the product the customer has just purchased.

2.) Upsell #2 - A super IN DEPTH product that takes one area of your main product and goes far into it.

3.) Upsell #3 - A Super high ticket item, such as coaching, etc. (the least people take this offer, of course, but for the few that do it brings up your Cust. Value dramatically)

---

I was just wondering what other types of post-sale upsells you guys have studied and which ones work well?

I am a HUGE fan of Deiss and have been applying his methods to my funnels:

Upsell 1) Physical Version of digital product
Upsell 2) Bucket Offer (ie. buy 1 get 3 FREE)
Upsell 3) High end offer + bonuses (ie. coaching for a 1 time payment of $997 or a 3 pay of $397)
    ||
===> Followed up with a downsell to Upsell 3 which is the same offer (minus some of the goodies) with a lower price.

Of course you need to test test test. But if you are starting out I recommend that start with this funnel - use this as your control and start your testing from here. I leave you with this single question:

When is $27 customer worth more than a $97 customer?

When you have a funnel in place. Check out Deiss's TAC & Traffic & Conversion seminar recordings if you can. Top notch marketing goodness.

I hear you -- why people admire and adore other certain gurus is beyond me.

I prefer people with specifics, not wish-wash like "karma".

For starters I don't view Deiss or any other marketer as a "Guru", I have greatly admired the business prowess of a select few. I can't speak for others, but here is why I admire my marketing heroes (I have "heroes" in near every area of my life. However with this being a marketing forum it wouldn't serve for me to list the people I admire because of their athletic prowess, etc.)

When you bust your ass trying to do something, (in my case make full time money online) and you keep failing over and over and over. Losing money over and over and over etc. When you come across that thing that helps you break through, or move to the next level...

You will have a certain appreciation of it, at least I do.

In the example of funnels, when I applied what Deiss teaches my income went up 3x overnight... litterly. Same offer, same traffic, just a new funnel. Well for me once I had that experience I said what else can I learn from this guy? I like his style it works for me. Then I tried another method he taught then, BAM income went up again...

What I admire is that they have walked the path - and are sharing some tips and tricks that are shaving months, maybe years off my learning curve. All I have to do is continue to apply correctly what I learn, and profit - note the key word here is "apply"...

In a sense the people I admire have taken care of some type of problem for me. In a marketing sense I could be struggling with conversions and then someone comes along and says "oh, do this" I do it and the problem solved - I will have a bit of gratitude towards that person. If they keep solving my problems it will turn to admiration...

You posted about funnels. I assume that you didn't post just to learn some theroy about what could be the ultimate upsell funnel? I assume you will apply something that you learn here, if you do end up applying something that you didn't know, that some warrior told you about in this thread - and you received outrageous results from it... Would you not feel a sense of admiration towards that Warrior that shared the breakthrough with you?

I think that people admire or hate "gurus" for the same reasons that people admire or hate the president, a movie star, or sports figure. The person is doing something you think is right, good, and in line with your personal internal beliefs/desires - or not.

That just my .02 spit out real quick about why I admire/adore some. Then again it could just be my nature or personality type, lol

Sorry if you didn't like my input. I just am seeing more and more garbage coming out from goo roos and confusing people. There are people who just go and buy up the latest and greatest and the goo roos encourage it. I don't like it and I don't think it's good. Although everyone is responsible for themselves and those that constantly buy up the latest and greatest stuff without implementing anything have themselves to blame also.

I think some of the products are good, but from what I have seen, they don't reveal "everything". and it leaves people wondering why it didn't work.

Well I agree its a lot of garbage.. but follow some Ryan Deiss. You'll learn more than doing it with no education.

Actually I am getting my education, but I won't get it from any goo roo. I am actually taking a couple of courses right now that will help me improve my business overall. I paid for the courses and they are very good. I just try to avoid the hyped up stuff a lot of these goo roos are putting out.

Don't forget downsells in case people don't want to pay full price for your upsells

Wow...just noticed Thomas' post above mine...they look surprisingly similar LOL.

    I thought the upsell #3

Would be better for backend email funnel.
I guest you can use it both ways.
Because not everyone will buy the firsttime.

Also i heard about Ryan Deiss for many years
but never brought any of his products in the past.

Not sure why...but i brought the death of the salesletter,
facebook ads and listbuilding course.. If you didn't buy
them i would highly recommend them.

His stuff is very good for Beginner and Advanced Marketers.
