What Is The Best Way To Get The Most Targeted Traffic?

Before you spend your time and effort sending a ton of traffic to your website, it is a good idea to make sure your website is converting the traffic you generate at the highest possible rate.

There is no sense in sending traffic to a website that doesn't convert well.

With that being said, there is no sense in having a website that converts at 100% if you can't generate any traffic.

I am going to assume you have conversion down to a science.

I use 3 main techniques to generate most of my traffic.

1. High Profile Content Syndication - Let's say you just wrote an incredible article, packed with tons of great, valuable content. Many people would submit that article to an article submission site like ezine articles, or go articles.

What I do, is contact the owner of a high traffic website or blog in my niche, with products or services as closely related to mine as I can, and I ask them to publish my article. Your article, with the link to your site at the end of it, is now in front of a whole lot of eyes that are hungry for what you have.

2. Forum Marketing - Use your search engine to search for a popular forum in your niche. Register, and set up your profile as completely as you can. Don't just immediately make a promotional post and leave.

Take the time to look around the forum before you make any posts. Pay attention to the way people communicate. Then join the conversation. Ask and answer questions in a conversation manner, not a promotional manner. Take note of questions that are being asked the most often. Find the most helpful answer to that question, and start a thread with the solution.

3. Social Media - Again, find a social networking site in your niche. Again, register, and set up a complete profile. Again, don't just start slinging your sales pitch. People run from salesmen and women, but they flock towards helpful people that have their best interest in mind.

Again, pay close attention to the way people communicate within that particular social network, because they are all different. Again, join in on the conversation. Again, ask and answer questions in a conversational manner, not a promotional manner. Again, take note of the most frequently asked questions. Again, provide solutions to these problems.

There is a recurring theme here. It is a founding principle in any business, online or offline, to provide as much value as you can. People do not visit your website or blog because they want to make you some money. People visit your website or blog because they are looking for a solution to their problem.

Here's the thing. Most people know this already. So why aren't they getting any traffic, or making any money? Because they are not taking action, and implementing it.

Just knowing this, and understanding it won't get you any results, unless you take ACTION!

I hope this inspires you to take action.

Good luck.

That was a nice one but I think the aspect where you want
a website owner that gets lots of traffic to publish your articles
is going to depend on the niche you are in.

I play internet marketing and it gets hard before you can get
a high traffic website to publish your article except you have
known yourselves for a pretty length of time.

I like the forum technique as well but I don't use it more
often anymore because it takes time and time is no longer
on my side as I have more ideas.

SEO is the way to go.

If you're worried about whether a keyword would be profitable to rank for - just PPC it for a few days and after a few bucks, you'll know exactly how much search traffic there is and if it will convert for you.

Agreed. long term nothing beats it. Your ability to stay ranked where you are getting good traffic grows as your site ages. PPC you have to always pay and most everything else you have to keep at non stop

I have never paid for traffic in my life. There is way more than enough free traffic out there to have to pay for traffic, if you ask me. I guess that is because I had very little money when I started, and I had to come up with free ways to get traffic. Once I figured out how to do it, paying for traffic just didn't make sense to me anymore.

    Thank You-

      Yes.

Like I said in the original post, "I am going to assume you have conversion down to a science."

Obviously, these techniques should be used only after you know there are people searching for, and buying what you have to offer.

      Thank you.

IMHO there is no such thing as free traffic. Whether it has been generated through SEO, PPC, etc, there is a cost associated.

Yes. There is a cost involved with SEO - initially. However, once you get your site to rank high your running costs can reduce dramatically...and you can end up with free traffic for many years to come. Conversely, with PPC, once you stop paying for advertising your traffic is non-existent.

Yahoo answers work well for me. Article marketing, ranking for keywords such as "yommys01 review" ( of course you know that is an example ), social bookmarking.

What Is The Best Way To Get The Most Targeted Traffic?
This is an essential question for ANYONE being in internet marketing.

To find the answer to this question the typical "IMer" might want to sit back, relax, throw away all SEO and IM related thoughts for a moment.

-> Try to understand the psyche of the customer, their motivation, their typical behaviours. TRY TO THINK LIKE A CUSTOMER. TRY TO THINK LIKE THE PERSON WHO IS LOOKING FOR A PROBLEM.

What would he do? What would he type into google? What sites would he visit? Where could this person spend their time online?

Heck, ask your wife, girlfriend, neighbor. I often ask my wife "if you would need information on this, what would you type in Google...where would you look online?"

    It can help!

And then, also look at YOUR site/article etc., whether its really delivering to a person who is looking for a problem <---

    Hello,

There is no one technique to drive traffic to and suggest. If you have capital and money to spend straight, PPC is the best choice. You can analysis the offers fast and keep repeating the equal until you discover a winner. And once you find a winner, it is just a matter of time before you scale it up. Nevertheless many people are scared of PPC. While some study PPC incompletely and drop a lot of money, some are just not easy losing money in PPC and even inferior a lot of associate marketers AdWords campaigns' have been slapped by Google.

The best way to get HIGHLY TARGETED traffic is to do PPC first.

Then once you find the keywords which convert, you want to optimize your site for SEO to reap the rewards of free highly targeted traffic.

Any questions just let me know

      Yes... Totally agree.

If you don't know PPC then take some time learning from Perry Marshall and Glen Livingston then apply what you've learned before you waste your hard earned money. Once you start to get your keywords data, start optimizing your site for those terms. It's the best traffic module. Because you already know which keywords converts rather then blindly optimizing for keywords that may or may not convert.

OP good info...but it's all time consuming. I guess you can outsource it. I do not like to spend so much time in marketing. SEO/PPC does it for me. I outsource some more that's about it.

Lately, I have been busy with SEO on one of my Adsense sites. I see potential in this site as its traffic level is increasing as I work on SEO. It was like 1-2 organic visitors per day a month ago and now it is about 8-10 organic visitors per day. I am sure if I keep working on SEO, it will go up more and more.

I don't know if there is a best way, but I will vote fore Search Engine traffic.

There is not that much movement in many niches provided the sites are well established. I don't see older established sites being affected that drastically by the "Google dance"

Yes addemmeda, I agree. I am, right this minute actually, working on a new home page, with a new domain name, with the sole intention of increasing SEO.

I think my time is best spent this way. I paid a whole $10 for the domain name, and of course I already have hosting.

You can get more of an increase in targeted traffic than a normal person could afford in PPC.

And yes Angelina, I agree, I think you can find out everything you need to know about which keywords to go after using Google's Keyword Tool.

I just use that info for non-paid traffic techniques.... How's that wording, adesbarats?

    Just my 2 cents.

Press releases, articles, blogs, videos like youtube(google) can be the best way to go especially if done targeted and seo friendly. So the key is really bring in targeted traffic not just bunch of traffic. I would rather deal with 10 targeted leads a day versus 500 non serious or just random leads.

I agree fasteasy. Not all traffic is the same. Same with the size of your list. Bigger is not always better. That's what my lady tells me anyway.

Mike. The reason alot of older sites aren't effected as much by the "google dance" is because they have used solid SEO strategies, and naturally moved up the ranks. As opposed to some newer sites that try shortcut SEO strategies, and build their sites solely for SEO purposes, and forget about delivering value, or helping people.

That is a founding business practice, online or offline, in any aspect of business, including SEO and traffic generation. The people that concentrate on helping people are rewarded, and that's the way it should be.

I'm glad google keeps tightening the reigns. They do it with the users in mind. They NEED to provide users with the most relavent results to keep users using their services.

That's what we should all be doing as marketers also. The same thing google does. Provide value for our users.

If your business does not revolve around providing people with solutions to their problems, you are in big trouble, and you deserve it.

    Good luck.
