How Competitive Is Your Niche?

Right now I'm in a few different niches, one is EXTREMELY competitive and saturated while the other is a big open sea that I mostly own/control. That being said, how competitive is the most competitive niche you're currently in either as an affiliate/product creator + owner.

    WELL... I do not sell any products or belong to any affiliate program, BUT I do know for a fact that there are MANY people providing writing services. Some good, some bad, most mediocre, but few are excellent. And I have to say, I strive for excellence.

    So yes, I am in a very competitive niche, but I think I hold my ground!!!

    My niche is not competitive at all, I use a hybrid method to make my money, and I don't think anyone can touch me at this time.

    How competitive is the IM niche? LOL Here's the thing though... Yes, IM is terribly competitive, but there are so many little nooks and crannies through which you can pry an opening to get in. Then it's a question of giving people genuine value. I guess my point is, don't be afraid to take a shot at a competitive niche - if it has many possible angles from which to attack. There's almost always a side door that's being ignored.

    I am in the IM niche mainly, but i also have sites in the health niche, gaming niche, computer niche and more.

    I cant generalize how competitive a "niche" is since in ANY niche we have products/keywords where you can easily dominate the search engines. As Zeus says, there are sub-niches and nooks and crannies.

    Say, you are in the "weight loss" niche, it might well be that someone tells you that niche is extremely, extremely competitive. But you could find a certain diet which is high in demand, low competition...same with products in the IM niche, or find some really good keyword in the insurance niche. Just be more targeted, less broad.
