Starting A Business Ebay Question/Advice Please?

Alright guys

I have been on ebay for some quite some time now. Back about two years ago I got interested in trying to selling ebooks via ebay, but at the time I noticed that for me to see any sort of return I would need to sells 1,000s per month..

I know that the rules have changes regards digitial downloads via email.. You can now only sell ebooks, via cd/dvds...

I am wondering if I got back into selling informational products via ebay if that would be benefit to me.. I have got a very lot of my times on my hands at the moment...

Do I need a special printer for the cd/dvd? I mean to produce label.. Or doesnt that mater??

I did at one point try and get into dropshiping but the information that I brought was way out of date, and no one would have brought the stuff...

I need genuine techiniques that work on ebay today...

I have sold most of the stuff that I can get.. And these days most people know about ebay so they can put their own stuff on... So what now??

Sorry if the above dont make sese but am really tried

    Byron,

Nope you don't need a special printer - you can go and buy sheets of labels (and a nifty little label installer gizmo) from staples.

My advice is go take a look at what is already selling on eBay (shameless plug of my signature) - that should give you a great view as to what can make money. Find some products that are selling the make a better one...it's a simple technique that has worked for centuries (well not on ebay but in commerce in general)

There is still very good money to be made in a whole variety of areas...

      Alright Simon

You know the label installers gimizo, are you talking about some sort of software that you put on your computer??

I have looked on staples and that appears to be all that I can find

Here is the applicator, it is a plastic thingy - cheap ($8.99) - no affiliate link - Avery CD-Label Applicator | Staples®

Lots of different companies make em - you can also get packs of like 100 labels and free applicator plus the software to actually print the labels.

Also read what travelin guy says carefully he is 100% accurate. I see so many sellers who have just AWFUL auctions. Your auction is your sales page - all the things that work on a sales page (for the most part) work on an auction. Invest LOTS of time an energy in your auction description. Go look at auctions that are selling and see if you can work out why. Then replicate (don't steal!) the concept on your auction....

I was a power seller on eBay for about a year and one of the things that made me successful was that I took the time to really describe the stuff I sold. Lots of people selling on eBay don't bother. I was looking for a music CD a couple of months ago and only one seller bothered to even list the songs on the silly thing.

My point is, when you describe your stuff well people respond. That's also the trick to selling digital stuff. I'm going to assume that you're selling PLR eBooks. Most of the PLR that I sell comes with graphics and original sales copy. Use these things to your advantage.

eBay allows you almost unlimited space in creating a listing so take advantage of it. Take a look at the PLR links in my sig and notice how I grouped lots of product graphics together (the reason is this forum only allows 10 images per post). You can do the same and really create some great listings.

But don't stop with just eBooks. The main reason I was successful on eBay was because I offered a bonus with my stuff. For a while it was American Flag lapel pins. When I sold books I'd usually throw in a similar title as a bonus. Then it was a SUPER BONUS CD with lots of games, software and fun stuff for kids and family.

And like the auction, I'd go all out in describing the bonus too. I had people write and tell me they bought the auction only to get the bonus. This ain't exactly rocket science. People in the Internet Marketing world are spoiled with bonuses but people on eBay aren't quite so used to them so take advantage of that.

You say you have a lot of time on your hands... Perfect. Write great descriptions along with bonus items and your stuff will outsell everything similar. Good luck.
