Depending on you whether you choose paid traffic or free traffic.

Paid traffic will be advertising on PPC. If free traffic, then you can try on social bookmarking, forums, article directories, etc. All these will take a while so you will need to be patience.

      Hello

Well it seems to me that you are just starting out and dont really know where to go.

So let me point you in the right direction.

Traffic Exchanges are a good place to start. Just make sure to make some sort of capture page. You dont want to sell anything in traffic exchanges you will want to capture a persons email.

Maybe do some Blogging and Forums.

You might also want to try doing some videos on your niche and submit them to different video sites such as you tube.

Social media is also a good place to start.

Sign up for Twitter and start building a following there.

Article writing might be a good place also. But its better to know what your really doing when it comes to article marketing. So do some studying on article marketing.

Write a short report on your niche and give it away for free. Then direct people to your site.

Start joining some other social networks like ning and set up your profile. start adding friends. Facebook is another great place.

Heres a few ways to start with.

      Hope this helps

    Hi Kish,

I would actually disagree with Craig's advice (sorry Craig).

Most of those methods are time consuming and unpredictable.

Getting traffic is easy if you just take a solid approach.

The first thing to do is research your market and see what people are searching for and which of those terms are likely to be buying terms. Make a list of the best keywords/phrases.

You need then need to make sure your website is focused on targeting these terms. Not doing this will have a MASSIVE detrimental effect on your traffic generation.

Then using directory submissions, article marketing and press releases - start an ongoing campaign on getting links to your pages with your keywords as the link text.

This alone can get you great results.

Don't waste your time on social marketing and other secondary methods until you have a solid site, a good keyword list and an existing system for creating new content and marketing it with articles and press releases.

People make this stuff way too complicated.

You could even just use articles - but get your site optimised first.

I think we can both disagree with each other but thats ok.

      Everybody has there own methods.

It might be time consuming but if you have no money, this is a great place to start.

I would also say waste your time on social media.

I was bringing in traffic on my first week and made some sales my first month.

I think this is a good way to build a foundation.

Its not time consuming if you manage your time right.

I spend less than 3 hours a day.

    Do the following:

    - Submit a solid press release and get it distributed online.
    - Outsource the writing of articles related to your website
    - Outsource the submission of those articles to the top directories
    - Create a facebook fan page around your service
    - Create a facebook account for your business
    - Invite all your friends to the FB page and share valuable content with them.
    - embed your website's signup form into the fanpage!

those are just a few ideas.

    Kishor,

it is not the technique like articles, forums, blogs etc.

Its more about going to your customer. I see that people set up their website and simply wait for traffic to come. No way.

The way I make good amounts of money is test and find out where my customer is lurking. Work hard but work smart. you will make it big in this game if you do so. Go to all the online forums / communities that house your most prospective client and put your message in front of them. I dont mean spam do it legitimately.

I do this with on of my really obscure niches...and I pay only $29 a month for my banner ad to be showing up the top of a forum, bang, as soon as someone comes to the site my pretty graphic is in their face the whole time, creating curiosity...literally hundreds each day...and all i pay is a crappy $29...NEATO. But this brings in sales continuously all month with hardly any work. But remember I did tests to find out this is where some good customers / propects are. I pay the $29 and I make about $1000 avg / per month, yes, just off that $29 ad. This is what i mean about working smarter.

I would rather have 10 people come to my site, who are hungry for my product, rather than 100 people to my site that are just stumbling around the place, like a drunken sailor. Those 10 are highly targeted, qualified prospects and you are more likely to bring sales or for them to sign up to your list, offers, deals, products.

Hope this helps....and good luck Kishor.

    Check my signature for methods.

Andy built a good foundation and I suggest try both Andy and Craigs methods (you can check my sig for other free methods)......just keep working at it and do more of what works and dont waste time on what does not work.

Majority of my top traffic sources differ for each website I have (except google and direct traffic). So you have to know your market.

    Cheer,
    Mukul

    Hi Kishor,

All methods that have been said were all correct. It really takes time to get everything on top and make sure that it has on the right place. We have been doing this kind of service for 2 years now and we had different clients who satisfied with our work. it would be a pleasure to discuss the details of the project with you. see sig for live chat and additional info. Thanks.

It's important to note that what works for one person won't work for you.

There are plenty of people who make 6 figures a year writing articles and submitting them to directories, but I would fail at that because I hate writing articles.

The best thing to do is experiment with a broad range of traffic generation techniques and see which ones have the best results for you. You can then focus your time towards those methods.

    Watch ya mate.

There are many ways to generate traffic. I find the best method is article submission but you can also generate traffic such as blog commenting, forums, social bookmarking, YouTube, etc.

    Good luck to ya

Try Social Media since you are new to the business. Low cost but still a good tool to increase traffic to your site. Once you have made your list, start spending a little by loooking into programs that will help you keep or increase the traffic to your site.

Just make sure that whatever method you choose to use - you have the right tools for the job in order to make that technique effective.

For example - you can write a nice article and see it go to the top of Google right away - for about 2 weeks, but then it will drop off - unless you have supported it in some way.

Don't get fooled into thinking that the first part of any traffic strategy is all that needs to be done.

Otherwise you'll go around spending time and getting little results and the results you do get won't last.
