2nd Tier Keywords- What the Hell???

Im looking at stomping the search engines 2 and they advised going after 2nd Tier KW's because they rank faster. They don't show enough examples of this in my opinion.

What are examples of second tier keywords in terms of search volume /completing pages?

Are 2nd tier considered keywords that are three words or more?

For example if my main keyword phrase is "make money" what would be considered 2nd Tier?

Thanks

Why don't you ask them what they mean?

Asking here will just get you a bunch of opinions which are not the one you're trying to uncover.

Ok, here's my take on it for what it's worth:

This isn't anything new, just a new phrase for an old thing.

2nd tier keyword phrases are phrases that still aim at your market but get less searches.

This doesn't mean longer phrases or long-tail phrases - just alternative phrases which you can target for the same traffic.

So if you were targeting "acne cures" and couldn't get enough traffic you could consider "facial treatments", "spot reduction solutions", "teenage skin problems" etc.....

They're still going for your target market but they're not the direct and more competitive main keyword phrase that gets the most traffic.

This is exactly what 2nd tier keywords are. Just keywords that are important but not your main COMPETITIVE keyword.
Try to think about the big picture. What is more valuable to you, your main keyword or ALL of your 2nd tier keywords? When you add all the traffic together that you recieve from your 2nd tiers is it more traffic than you recieve from your main keyword? If the answers yes then it make sense that you would benifit more by targeting your 2nd tiers.

I finally recieved my package yesterday and i must say it was worth the wait. A lot of it is common knowledge SEO but thats expected. The main reason I ordered was to hear their lastest advice and I wasn't disapointed. There are some powerful secrets that they disclose that most of our competition just do not know and will give us a huge advantage. This is especially true if you ordered their 'Insider DVD of the month' which I thought was genius.
