How to Create an External RSS Feed

Hey Guys!

I'm working on getting some of my backlinks indexed. To do so, I was planning on creating RSS feeds of the links and then pinging them.

Does anyone know an easy way to create an RSS feed out of a lot of varied links? It needs to be external (not hosted on our own site). Does anyone know a tool/site that can do this reliably?

Thanks in advance!

I am not sure, but I think you should use feedburner.

    Hi Mad Dawg,

There are quite a few sites which will enable you to mix feeds up. Rather than listing a few I thought you might get more ideas if I just point you to this article:

10 Tools to Combine, Mix, Blend Multiple RSS Feeds

Some of the links are down but there are plenty to choose from. My own preference is to use Yahoo Pipes but it depends on what you're trying to achieve.

    Hope that's of some help.

Forgive me for promoting my own site, but it does exactly what you were asking for, and quite a bit more.

www.rssautopilot.com takes your backlink URLs, checks them to make sure the backlink actually exists (you'd be amazed how many don't, or aren't in a form that the search engines will follow), then creates both RSS feeds and web pages from the URLs, and pings the feeds for you over a period of time. It rechecks you URLs regularly, so you can check if the links are still there, and it repings your feeds periodically, giving you maximum exposure for your backlinks.

If you are interested, please click the link above or in my sig, and you'll get a special Warrior bonus of $10/month off the price, as well as a 50% increased in site allowance.

As I'm feeling generous , I'll also refund your first month (if you send me your PayPal receipt), so you'll get the first month free whatever happens. There's also a 60-day money back guarantee, so if you don't like the service, you won't lose anything.

PM me if you have any questions.

    Hope this helps,
    Alan

Yahoo! Pipes is a very powerful, free and underrated tool. It provides a WYSIWYG drag-and-drop interface for manipulating and mashing data. You can use it to grab a list of links from a data source (like a CSV file) and massage it into an RSS feed. Very easy to use and they have lots of examples.
