Squeeze Page Strategy question

I've been a now and then affiliate marketer over the years making some money but now I'm really serious about making things happen. Primariliy i'm building my list.

My first thought is urls; that is, do I want the squeeze page at the root of the domain or do I put it in a subdirectory?

The reason I ask is because I would think a straight domain is going to look better in a resource box than www.yourdomain.net/folder, or am i just worrying too much?

Why couldn't you just put the link in a hyperlink?

    You could do several things:
If you want a multi-page site, then you could have the squeeze page as the homepage, but then have a link to "enter" the site or something like that.

Or you could make it a sub-domain if you don't want to make it the home page.

Most places allow a hyperlink, although some forums don't.

Honestly, I wouldn't care if I saw that it was a sub-domain. If I want to visit your squeeze page bad enough, I'd just go ahead and not really think about it. But that's just me.

What you could do is make your squeeze page your primary URL, then after they optin and confirm you could send them to a specific post on your blog thanking them for signing up.. so on and so forth.

Think of it this way... where are you going to be sending most of your traffic to?

You can always buy a new domain name for a product...

I don't think the actual url makes that much of a difference personally, the only problem I seem to have is when I watermark a video with a url, but it's really not something to be too concerned about it will only make a very minor difference in most cases

Exactly why your main URL should be a squeeze page. Focus on building a list.
