iPad delayed launch problems.

I just read on the the Canadian Apple site that the launch of the iPad will be delayed here for more than a month - bad news for us here, but it's actually good news for Apple, because the international launch has been delayed due to unexpected higher demand for the product since the US launch.

I remember reading that they were thinking to sell 10,000,000 (Yes TEN MILLION) iPad units this year alone, back in January when the product was announced. So I suppose even that number may very well be surpassed.

Absolutely massive market impact in an entirely new segment. With that kind of penetration it makes me think I really have to get busy targeting eBook products for release on the iPad.

I know and I am ticked. I was going to be there bright and early on the 24th to get mine... now I am making plans to drive down to the states and get one LOL... lets call it a birthday gift to myself(?)

Let me blow your mind for a second and lets look at this in the marketing world and think a little outside of the box...

WHAT IF - Apples sales where really not what they had expected and this is a PR stunt to boost sales. I wouldn't hold it past a company to pull a stunt like this... Supply & demand

Steve jobs was even quoted after his keynote in the press Q&A for iPhone OS4, if they would still be shipping out their iPads internationally at the end of the month...

Steve jobs response was "why wouldn't we", that was only a couple days ago.

Think about it a little lol

wifi is wifi man and will work anyplace! I am even getting the 3G version and will just pick up a micro sim card from bell or rogers once it is introduced later in May.

          The sweet thing is...

Odds are here in Canada our iPads will be bridged with our current iPhone data plans, so we wont have to pay for two separate data plans!! Thats the nice thing about having all the "big guys" selling the iPhone and beauty of competition for consumers!

Naw I was half serious about that theory lol... No one will talk about it because Apple is spinning their PR in an way that boosts their sales. Blackberry is bad for this type of thing too by pretending their updated software got leaked out into the internet. Die hards update the "leaked" software and instantly become beta testers and if it bricks their phone...

Not RIM's fault, it was "leaked" software and not an official release haha

Wait... so if I have an iPhone on Rogers (fido) with 3g right now, I can use the same account for my iPad?

Anyway, I was just thinking about getting the WiFi version... might be worth a trip to Buffalo.

            Thanks.
