How long does it take for you to earn money in internet marketing?

Hi Warriors!

I believe there are many senior warriors in this forum.

I once ever heard an expert of internet marketing said that it will take you for 1 or 2 years to be an expert/ guru in internet marketing and earn lots of money. If you can earn money at least in a month, it must be just accident.

I know, there are stuffs to be learned in internet marketing, but do you think is it possible to earn lots of money in 1 month at least?

If yes, how much money have you earned in your first month to be internet marketer?

    1 month is abit too long in my opinion. No meaning to brag but I made my first $20 within 2 weeks of starting. Its just a matter of how badly you want it, thats all.

      Also depends on what you are doing..
      Say you open up services like content creation, theme design etc for internet marketers, then you can start earning almost instantly...
      If you trying your hand in promoting products as affiliate, then it depends on how and where you are promoting

        To earn money in one month is quite hard...but i didnot saying that it is impossible...it totally depends on your knowledge and the way of work you done...it is quite possible that your work is unique and provides the result early...as the internet marketing field is vast and it gives the vast opportunity to earn a lot of money in a short time also...but it needs the hardwork.

      There is a big difference between earning $20 and being an "expert". I think it takes years to really understand the game, and even then... there is ALWAYS more to learn.

      The reason it takes years is because nothing beats experience. If you haven't ran into some difficulties or needed to rethink things from time to time... then you aren't really "battle-tested". Figuring out one way to make money is not the end goal... it's being agile/flexible enough to stand the test of time.

    It took me 1 year 3 months to make my first $100 but that is what I make in a day now. The key is never to give up, read and implement what you have read.

    And importantly, always remember tough times never last, tough people do.

    It's different for everyone. It depends on your existing skills, abilities, knowledge and willingness to take action.

    For example if your background is in sales and marketing your success may come more quickly than someone who has a background as a fireman or truck driver for example.

    It also depends on if you get sucked into the hype of "get rich quick" products. This held me back for a looooooong time. I never made any money online until I realized there is no such thing as get rich quick.

    Oh wait, I have to catch my wife before she leaves to remind her to pick up the lottery tickets. Ok, maybe I still believe a little in get rich quick.

      I was made for this stuff... I have a background in sales & marketing and a degree in psychology... I also used to work for a graphic design / marketing firm... and am a writer. And I've also run businesses before.

      So it took me about a week and a half and I made my first $$ online -- $300.

      Then within 3 months my biggest month was about 9k.

      It's very doable. You don't have to have the skills, you just need to know how to find the people that do.

    It took me two months, from the total newbie start, to earn $1K.. So it's definitely possible to earn money in your first month..
    It's important to earn your first $1 to prove yourself that it is possible, and from there just learn and don't give up.. rinse and repeat what made your first buck, and learn down the way, expand income streams, and eventually you'll become an expert in what you're doing

    It's a bit of a crystal ball question really.

    Depends on your focus and the effort you put in, but yes it is certainly possible to earn money in your first month and like any other business, the more effort you put in the more likely you are to reap the rewards.

      So many variables go into answering a question like this. Let me add another. When you ask how long it takes to make a lot of money do you mean from the day you take your first real action or the day you first start dreaming about an IM career? I'll admit I wasted a bunch of time dreaming about an IM career while trying to convince myself I was "learning" about the business.

      Guess I'm saying that if you never get started it will take FOREVER to earn the first dollar. And that's a long time.

    It took me about 5 months till I got my first sale online but since then my income steadily increased. But I really feel that it depends upon your background and what you are promoting. Also, if you get help straight away, that makes a big difference. Hire a coach or outsourse parts that you don't want to do or is a low $/hr task. This will get your business moving faster.

    If you are brand new, then you are more then likely going to take a little bit to make a decent amount of money. The first year or two is really about learning what works and what direction you want to go with it. It can be over whelming at first.

    After you know the ropes, it's simple though. I can have a full business up and running making a solid income in under 30 days. That's just because I know exactly what needs to be done and when to have it done. Also, I hire out all aspects of the business. I used to be an internet marketer. Now I'm a project manager =)

    I earnt money my first week in marketing... but no way was it PROFIT.

    I spent way to much on buying an ad on an overpriced newsletter.... I got a sale but no way covered my costs...

    Lesson one learnt. It's not how much you make that counts, but how much PROFIT you make.
