Hi everyone,

Me again! I have been told that you don't make a profit on frontend products if you use online marketing (adwords etc) instead you breakeven but that i should aim to make a profit when using offline marketing methods (direct mail etc).

Can i have your views on this as i always thought that i should be aiming to make a profit on both my front end and backend product.

Cheers

Every market is different. People that say "you don't make profit on front end products" are clearly in a niche where that is the situation . That doesn't mean it applies everywhere. Having said that, there is no reason not to have backend products to increase those profits.

IMO, it is important that you don't build your entire business around tight margins over PPC. This is ultimately a "race to the bottom", and means you will have to constantly struggle to edge out your competition (driving profits down to the pennies).

Get people on a list, build relationships with your customers, focus on meeting their on-going needs... this will result in greater long-term success for you and your business.
