TGIF... Our NEWBIE mistakes, which one was your biggest OOOPs? This is VERY funny!!

I know that often enough we come across threads where we tell NEWBIES what NOT to do on a Forum or in online business, if they want to be taken seriously as IMers. I happen to enjoy all of those threads because I like helping others avoid mistakes that are often costly. IT's friday so I figured we all need a little laugh. :p

Last night I was browsing through Bing's community forum and came across a post that was hilarious. I have decided to share it so that you can see that the stupid questions are not found only at WF. This is a typical SEO mistake; we choose the wrong keywords and then wonder what the heck happened? Why did we not get indexed or ranked or even get any traffic from it? Bing - my web page was number 1 result in bing search engine now he disapere why???? - Bing Community

I found it so hilarious because I made the same mistake when I started.

NOW, what was your biggest NEWBIE OOOPS?

The keyword has over 8 millions competing pages when put in quotes. There is no possible way you can rank for that EASILY.

My biggest newbie mistake was doing Paid To Click and survey Sites.

I spent over 5 months and I had about $5000 in my income from these sites and when I tried to get my money they started playing their stupid games.

Some told me that according to their terms and conditions they pay in Zimbabwe dollar and not american ones and some simply didn't reply.

In the end I was sitting with a whooping $5.57 in my paypal after wasting 5 months.

Those 5 months are what I regret really really bad.

        Yup,

And if anyone tells me they didn't do anything stupid when you started out with IM I would not believe it because everyone makes mistakes, learns from them and moves on.

  • Well, I am still new at this, and although I have learned quite a bit from my IMer husband, I have to say that providing full samples and not getting paid for them has been my biggest mistake. This happened in one of the freelancing sites I belong to. I provided a fully optimized article as a sample and not only was I NOT chosen for the project but the person kept my article, used it and did not pay me for it. And it happened three times... I think I FINALLY learned my lesson!
