Moving forward
I joined the forum sometime in July last year, when I discovered that marketing could also be done on the internet.
Along the way, I learned a lot of things and have made my first 100 bucks. The funny thing was, I never got excited about making my first dollar - because I knew that if I continued to plug along daily with whatever I had learned, I am bound to make some money. Thus, nothing seemed like a surprise or magic. Everything was just a matter of time.
I think one of the little tricks I learned earlier on was to find out what I needed right at that point of time, and then go out and look for useful information and then apply it. The second trick I learned was to determine specifically what I do not know, and then go out and look for the answer. For example, I had started working on an affiliate website and had the big picture in mind. However, along the way, I found out that I don't know how to upload graphics onto my website, so I went out to search for the answer. And then I found out that I didn't know how to drive traffic to my website, so I went out to search for the answer again. I searched for answers by looking for good WSOs or simply googling around. The greatest thing I learned was: People tend to create/write 50 pages long eBooks for questions that can be covered in 5 pages.
The main point is, I discovered that if we break things down into small portions, we can get things done more systematically and ease off on the frustrations.
However, moving forward, I know that my greatest weakness lies in "management". I am weak in managing my time. Because I have so many things that I want to do, I get lost along the way.
Also, I find that I work best when there is someone there to guide me along by teaching and telling me "This is what you should do next."
I find myself lost all over the place without guidance, so what would you suggest? I don't have thousands of dollars to look for a mentor. On the other hand, the specific day-to-day guides that I have picked up along the way, while useful, are not 100% suitable to my situation too. Most of the methods I tried out seemed to be working, and because of that, I get even more lost. This is because out of the 10 methods that I have been trying out, I am not able to pin-point which was the one that made things work for me.
I am able to source for answers for small questions, but I am unable to manage what I should do next. If you were in my shoes, what would you do so that you can accomplish a breakthrough and move forward?
