question about building a list - free / commission method

Dear warriors i have just written a 30 page report and my aim is to build a list.
Would like to hear your opinions whether i should use it as a free gift or give 100% commission and sell it for $7 using the 7ds.

Since your goal is to build your list, best give it away to those who will sign up for your email series.

Give it away as a free gift on your website where you would have an optin box. Give away a free gift to create your list, that way you can market to them for life (or until they unsubscribe )

      Hi eugenekjy

Depending on what market you are targeting I would advise that you give the report away for free, then continue to give stuff away around the same subject matter. What you need to do is create a relationship with your subscribers and market to them not sell to them.
This can be done by using PLR products and re purposing them/rewriting them and provide these as your feeder products. Then once you have the trust of your subscribers start to introduce them to either paid products of your own or affiliate products. Just make sure that the products you start to promote are very closely related to the original free report you gave away in the first place.

Most new marketers try to sell too hard too early and this just makes people unsubscribe.

Think about marketers whose list you are on, how do they promote themselves to you, what free stuff do they give away?, How often do they send you e mails?, What subject lines do they use? If you stay subscribed what is that makes you open and read their e mails?

Building a list is more of a relationship building exercise than a selling one. Once you have their trust then they will purchase stuff through your links.

There is a great phrase that I use all the time, this was taught to me when I did a lot of Networking. "Givers Gain" In essence the more you give ultimately the more you will receive. Think about helping other people to achieve their goals and your goals will naturally come.

I am in the process of releasing a product that has 10 videos, pdf reports and mind maps. I will be giving all this away for FREE. All this has been created in house but I believe that by offering value and over delivering I can build that all important relationship and my list will ultimately be more responsive and therefore more profitable.

Think of the long term profits and not the quick buck. This will satnd you in good stead for the future. Remember with social media and web 2.0 selling crap is dead (not that your report is crap as I haven't read it just paraphrasing) as word gets out very quickly and your name and brand will suffer.

      Hope this has helped
