I am new to writing hubs, does anyone have any tips of how to optimise hubs, is it pretty much the same as an article in terms of kw density and using low comp keywords?

Then after you publish is it usual socialbook marking, pinging....please any tips to get good rankings for hubs would be appreciated.

Also I know you cannot make them over promotional and that you can put in the old one or two links within content, should you make the anchor text links the same as the keyword or does this not matter?

Cheers if you can help.

I backlink my Hubs with social bookmarking, blog commenting, and links from other web 2.0 properties that I control. They seem to respond well to this.

One thing you don't want to do is be overly promotional (as in trying to sell a product right from the article). I send readers to my own blog first. But, they do actually allow you to place direct affiliate links in your text. I suppose it depends on how you are coming across.

They also don't seem to like it if you are always posting the same links to the same domain across all your hubs. Mix it up a little.

Your links will become do-follow if you are able to get your personal hub score above 75 and the individual hub over 40. Many factors come into play here, like the quality/length/originality of your hubs, the rankings you receive from other members, and your level of participation in the community.

I also see an increase in hubscore after I do some backlinking.

Having said that, I don't think hubscore really matters when it comes to serp position. Many low-score hubs are at the top of the serps.

while the content needs to be unique, the more backlinks you build to your hub the higher you would get ranked on the search engines

yes use keywords as anchor text for maximum benefit

Same exact philosophy as articles. Optimize your hubs like you do your articles then throw a couple backlinks at them for more weight!

First you need to optimize your hub by adding your keywords in the title and body of your hub. You can then start building back links. You will find information on how to get a lot of traffic from your hub by searching hubpages.

With the right research, keyword density & bookmarking, you could
easily dominate the first page of google for several terms with hubpages.
