Free is not a trusted word

INTERNET MARKETING

Free often doesn't mean free. When I see a page offering something free I'm careful to read the whole pitch.

Sometimes there is no hint of "non free" until you enter your information, then you get to the next page where you are presented with a way to pay for "Shipping and Handling "

Good marketing or bad form?

Free 2010 Porsche Boxster*

Simply fill in your name and shipping address....

* when you buy any aircraft carrier or nuclear submarine

Has anyone done any split testing on "Free product with $5 s/h" compared to "$5 product with Free s/h" ?

I tend to get angry and feel like I am being tricked or cheated when someone tells me their product is free then they charge me $10-$20 s/h. When I see this I know they are making money off of the s/h.

99% of the time I don't get the product when I am confronted with this type of deceit.

I can remember, at my beginning, I learnt much more about internet marketing with term "free"

How?

The truth is no one wants to give me anything free. So, when it find a free offer, I followed it until realize that "what really he (owner) is earning while giving this free"

Actually, it helped to learn very effective internet marketing related stratagems.
