Hi Folks,

On my squeeze page, I currently offer a discount coupon for signing up to my list. This discount is low at 10% by IM standards I'm sure but my product is organic / eco-friendly clothing so margins are well, tighter then other product offerings.

To improve my opt in rate, I have been racking my brain trying to develop some novel additional give away that would bring value to the opt-in w/o costing me my organic shirt..

I was thinking of perhaps an e-book on living green but I prefer to offer to offer that through my auto-responder to try to capture the fence sitters.

Any other digital ideas I could offer that could help improve opt ins?

      I think you're fine with what you're offering. You probably just need more traffic and to get the word out.

      Go to Online PR News and have a professional Press Release done and have them distribute it out. They can do it for free, but I'd upgrade to the $49 special. You'll get some fast backlinks (within days) as well as be able to target some competitive keywords (not totally guaranteed but highly possible).

      But it's up to you to choose the three keywords (anchor text) you want to rank for. I'd check with SEO Chat's keyword difficulty tool to determine the most appropriate and targeted keyword that you'd like your site to rank for. Aim for 50% difficulty and below.

      Have your press release talk about your site in a newsworthy fashion and what it offers as a green/eco-friendly experience. Best case scenario some journalist decides to interview you which will give you even further exposure.

      Your kind of website is ideal for a press release.

    The entire purpose of the squeeze page is to get the email information so your prospect can enter your autoresponder series. At this point in the "relationship" a coupon would not have much "value" because they do not know you.

    I would definitely offer an ebook or video (or series) of valuable content. Now the relationship is being built, the non-trust wall begins to come down. Then you give MORE quality content in your autoresponder series.

    Last I heard, correct me warriors if I am wrong, the typical purchase happens around contact number 6 or 7. So, not to devalue your coupon, but I believe you should concentrate on:

    1) acquiring the email
    2) build the relationship
    3) establish yourself as the expert
    4) the sales WILL come in
    5) determine your metrics
    6) ramp it up
