How To Stucture A Site Properly With A Blog

OK I need a little help from some experienced warriors.

I would like to at some wordpress blogs on my own domains. I have lets say 2 or 3 sites which are clickbank review type sites. You know the ones the 3 top products for a niche review with affiliate links. I am making a few sales here and there nothing to retire on.

I would like to add a blog on to the domains, to build pages on the domain for extra traffic and ranking.

Would it be best to add the blog to http://www.mysite.com/blog or would it be best to have the blog home page as the domain home page ie http://www.mysite.com as the new blog home page.

If i do it the first way should I/or how do I, link in the blog to the existing home page.

If I do it the second way how do I get the home page in the blog to keep the original review site style and still operate as a blog.

I hope I have confused you if your reading this and my problem makes sense to you. I really want to take my business forward from a few sales a week to regular affiliate sales from all my sites.

I would like to start of on a good footing by having my sites looking good and flowing correctly.
