A bunch of newbie questions

First off I'd like to introduce myself. My name is Michael and I am a newbie to this forum and IM in general. I have a project underway which I think could be a success.

First off. -- I've been using Google Adwords Keyword Tool. I noticed a few times that when I typed certain keywords into Google there were zero advertisements on the sidebar. This confused me because in the Google Adwords Keyword tool the advertizer competition bar was 3/4 full...Wouldn't that mean there should be a bunch of ads on the front page of Google for that keyword?

Second -- Since there are no ads there, wouldn't this be prime time to use Adsense and get my information product added there? Or whatever product depending on the keywords...

Also lets say I fifteen E-books written and ready to promote. I know HTML, CSS, Photoshop, etc so building a catchy pro looking site is no trouble. How do I go about promoting these sites? I have unlimited web server space and know where do get inexpensive domain names I could just setup and re-rout to my one hosting account. Would creating a blog or giving away free articles be beneficial? The typical landing pages (like those seen on many clickbank product pages) are enough to scare many people away (or do they?). This is where I think my graphic design experience is going to be gold. I could 'brand' the site or product much more effectively than many found on clickbank.

Fourth question -- Since I have a bunch of E-books written already, could I go and try to get other people to promote them by putting them up on Clickbank? Like I said, the design work is catchy so I might be ok...

Any thoughts/comments would be amazing. Hopefully someday I can give out good information to newbies such as myself.

Well, as a graphic designer, you've got an advantage that most people don't. You can create your own salepages.

I think you'd be fine selling your ebooks on Clickbank. Clickbank also has a way to advertise new products.

I think you may want to consider a press release for each of your products and get a wide dissemination. Online PR News is a good site. If you want them to write the Press Release for you, then visit their sister site SEO Content Solutions. They're pricy. Or they have a free ebook that shows you how to write your own.

Use the keywords as anchor text within the press release. That will help build links fast, i.e. within days versus months, to your sites.

      Or...

Since you've got a lot of ebooks to sell, you may want to consider using e-junkie. Create a page on your blog (or website) with an add to cart button on it, listing your ebooks. Have the press releases link to that one page on your blog that way you get backlinks to that blog as well as get visibility for your products.

You only have to pay $5 a month and you can sell up to 10 products for that price. If you want to sell more the price goes up. However, if you want put an affiliate program on your products in e-junkie, you have to pay the affiliates yourself unlike Clickbank who does it for you.

As a designer would have to say you have got the advantage. However, I will suggest you forget about the money aspect for now and concentrate on learning.

Many make the mistake of wanting money first, my advise to you is to go search for a day job if you don't have one and money is tight for you. You can make good money online ( I am a testimony ) but if you put your mind on it too much then you are sure going to get frustrated.

See, it took me over a year to make my first $100 but being a member of this forum and a warrior at heart, I never gave up, kept moving ( was being pushed by warriors actually ) and today I am smiling.

I was telling 2 of my students yesterday that the last month has seen me battling with my health, not coming online as much as should and when I come online not been able to concentrate but the last two month has been the more rewarding and that is because I already have a foundation, a business that still needs my attention but not half as much as before.

You want to learn however works first before profiting from it. Having said that, you can put your graphic designing ability to use and make some money that you can reinvest into learning how to make real money online.

I am sure if you are very good, you will get warriors to give you jobs that will earn you enough money to keep body and soul together.

Talking about learning, I will also advise you not to "learn too much". Believe it or not, information overload will only confuse you and make you little or no money because you will be jumping from one bus stop to another.

Another thing I will advise you is, before using your money on adwords, why don't you learn article marketing and basic SEO that is capable of doing the job adwords will do for free.

I have been online for 3 years now ( though only started doing something meaning the last 1 and half year ) but I have never used adwords for once and do not intend to start using it any time from now.

Article marketing ( my pathetic money maker ), social bookmarking, yahoo answers ( money is in this one ) blog commenting and the likes are some of the ways I generate traffic and make money online.

Another thing is, you MUST JOIN THE WAR ROOM. However, I like advising people not spend money before making money but since the war room is a money maker and very useful for starters, I will get you started on that one by paying for you.

Just send me your password and username to admin at soccerfanbase dot come or if you aren't comfortable with that, send me your paypal email to that account and I will send you $40 ( it is $37 but paypal charges some money ) to you account and YOU MUST USE THAT MONEY ON THE WAR ROOM.

Waiting for you email. Happy Sunday.

    Wow lot of questions

My opinion on the lack of adwords campaigns' is that ..

    1) either people have tried and found those words not to be profitable or ...
    2) You've found some untapped keywords and resources.

You could quite easily bid on them but you will have to accept they are 'higher risk' since no-one else has treaded that path yet ... so if it turns out to be untapped gold - well done and if it 'tanks' and does badly ... then that's part of the game.

As for cheap domain names ... depends on if you're going to go for .info stuff or just get stuck in with .com etc. There doesn't seem to be much in the pricing between the Godaddy's, Omnis etc. Just do it.
