Social Marketing Lists are BETTER then Autoresponder Lists !!!
Before you jump out and slam me hear me out. I will say upfront their are limitations to why they are better (because you can't automatically send messages to your social network friends list unless you pay a ghost writer and I have no stats to support that they are better monetarily YET)....that said...here me out:
1. Autoresponder messages gives everyone an option (in every message) to unsubscribe...friends lists doesn't have this feature in every message you send to them (by the way you CAN use your friends list similiarly as your autoresponder lists....if you haven't done this...you might want to start doing this).
2. Social network messages are viewed (in my opinion) differently at least right now then spam messages in your email account. Given time....yes...people will view messages that you send them in their social network similiarly as the messages they receive in their email account......BUT WE ARE NOT THERE YET IMHO !
3. In an age WHERE EVERYONE WANTS TO HAVE MANY FRIENDS IN THEIR SOCIAL NETWORKS.....the chances of them deleting you are less than people unsubscribing from your EMAIL LIST...which by the way is very convenient in the email everytime you send one. Even if they don't like the messages you send to them in their social network profile....they more then likely will keep you....because...after all ....the human condition online is we want to be perceived as "HAVING MANY FRIENDS"
Just some thoughts out there of the continued growing phenemenon of Social Networks
