My sites have disappeared!

I have a website websitehostingplans.org that is about six months old. It has been on page one or two, depending on the day, for months. About two weeks ago it disappeared, and has not returned.

I have seen some of my sites disappear for a day or two, while google shuffles everything, but this site, and one other similar one, on a different topic, have been gone for weeks.

I searched all the way to position 1000, with no luck. As you can see from the site, it is legit, with nothing that google would be upset with. I don't do anything black hat.

I assume they have been de-indexed them, but I have no idea why. I haven't even been in either site for 2 months.

Any ideas?

Thanks Glenn

  • Well its probably a complication. That is why you should submit your sites to search engines every 30 days.

How did you come up with this gem?

There are a lot of reasons sites fall off the radar, doing what you propose is a lot like a dog chasing it's tail. If your site is active you'll get rankings unless you've been blacklisted.

      Here's the thing to remember...

Google doesn't rank websites. It ranks web pages. The difference is huge.

You may lose a ranking here or there, and you may gain a ranking here or there. It's a very fluid environment. Unless the webpages have some tenure, and that is voted on by searchers who create sticky results (they just don't immediately hit the back button) you're going to remain in the shuffle.

Submitting your sites to search engines every 30 days to increase rankings won't help the serp visitors one bit. I doubt it will do much for your websites, either.

That can be a recipe to getting your site banned by google

Thank you for all the reply's to this thread. I guess I will just have to wait it out. Here is something interesting I just noticed a few minutes ago.

My site websitehostingplans.org is nowhere to be found for the keyword website hosting plans, but if you search that keyword in quotes, "website hosting plans" the site shows up #2 in google.

I don't have an answer for it.
        Thanks again Glenn

No need to submit your site. I checked and it hasn't been de-indexed so at least there is one positive.

Google has had a big shuffle of rankings recently which you are aware of it may help if you can tell us what keyword you should be ranking for.

You have not been de indexed . Google has just not ranked your site in the top 1000.

Kind of amazing your site was on Google one for any time considering it has no page rank and very little off page .

Could easily be that Google placed it there for a day or two for the fresh content and then dropped it . If you never cleared cookies it is possible your results still showed it there when in reality it was not .

your page is not de-indexed, it's more like de-ranked..

you got provide value to the visitor..

you google value score is probably low, you have no content...

which one of these keywords are you targeting?

<meta name="keywords" content="website hosting plans, best domain hosting, hostmonster, hostmonster.com, easy web hosting" />

There is no FREE lunch..you got only 4 backlinks...

someone spent little effort, your page will be knocked out ....

get some solid backlink to your pages again, then you will be back..

Troy and Han are spot on. You need to start building links to your site.

I am ranking for website hosting plans. I always buy domains for my main keyword.

Just for more info, I built this site in oct. 09, and it has been in position 7 or 8 on page one, or the top one or two positions of page two in google since then. Then all of a sudden it disappeared. Seems a little odd.

I should have mentioned that I had checked, and knew it was still indexed. I just thought someone might know something else that could have caused it.

Just as a tip, and this works, because I have about 70 sites that prove it. If you pick low competition keywords, of three to four words, and buy the exact domain in .com,net, or org, and you cloak all the affiliate links, so google does not know you are an affiliate, and your content is unique, and you do all the other seo stuff right, like all in one seo plugin, title tags, ect, it is very easy to get on page one of google, with minimum backlinks, and stay there. That's why you don't see too many backlinks on my site. I usually don't need them. I can often out rank pr4 sites, with 2 to 4 week old sites with this method.

        Thanks Glenn

Yes, keywords in domain really help in ranking for the keywords. However, you can't rely solely on the On page optimization only, put some effort into off page backlinking, eg: profile linking/bookmarking/rss will make ur result stick.

a website with keyword in domain can't beat a website without keyword in domain but with thousand and thousand back links.

          Hope this help

Keep building backlinks and content and try not to "focus" on what your Google ranking are. Build it and they will come.
