What Impact has "the Economy" had on You + Your Business?

So, friends have told me that, in "this economy" "noone" wants to buy digital information products, let alone at higher price points. What do you think of this statement? Have friends/family said the same thing to you? What has your experience been like with "this economy" for you and your business? Thanks!

I would say the exact opposite for money making niches. Most are looking for ways to make more money and be financially secure

It would probably depend on what you are selling but in my case it doesn't really make a difference, we are chugging along just fine. On the other hand, I've given up on eBay (again) because the market for the stuff we usually sell has utterly collapsed. I'll try again in about September.

The economy has had an impact on me negatively. I have a couple sites that don't make nearly as many sales as they used to. And in the summer time, that pretty well dries up.

However, I am adapting by building some other sites so that I have more ways to be in front of people. I am making sure to throw some sites in that are for desparate shoppers.

I am working on getting my sister a site up and running. She has had to overcome some beliefs such as " why would someone buy information products online, when books are cheaper".

I don't make a great deal through clickbank, but I showed her one of my small clickbank accounts 3 or 4 times to make the point during that conversation. It finally dawned on her, as there was proof staring her in the face. Digital products are selling on the internet.

I promote evergreen non-IM CB products and I'm finding that I have to work harder and harder to stand still. I have just finished analysing my stats for the past 2 years and I find that the average $ per hop has fallen around 35% in that time.

My visitor numbers have increased but my earnings are the same as they were 12 months ago. This is true across several products and web sites.

If this slump is a result of the recession then I have something to look forward to as we climb out of it but if it's something else then I'm in trouble.
