Wher can I buy aged domains?

Hi,

I'm looking to get into the "work from home" niche and was wondering if I could snag some good domain name which has been registered for a year or two.

I know a lot of warriors indulge in domaining and hope to hear some good resources.

      Does it?!!! I was not aware.

      Is'nt domain age one of the many factors in figuring out the PR of a site? If a domain has content and if its say... a PR2 , transferring the site ownership would not change the PR of the site..right?

        There are lots of places to buy aged domains. The age only changes if the domain is dropped, transferring a domain does not change the age.

        Sedo.com has lots of domains that are up for sale.

        TDNAM.com is run by godaddy and requires a fee.

        I prefer to use freshdrop.net which works with tdnam (so you still have to pay that fee but it is only like $5 a year) but makes it MUCH easier to search. Just do a search by age and you can find some old domains which will help you avoid the google sandbox.

        I search the close out bin. Basically these are names that are in the redemption period, meaning the owner didn't renew by the required date and if that person doesn't pony up the funds in whatever time is left in redemption period the domain will be dropped. You click to buy it and pay but you don't officially get the domain until the redemption period expires and the owner fails to redeem. If the owner DOES redeem then you are refunded the amount you paid.

          freshdrop is the way to go. Definitely check out the closeout bins as they are only $5 and I have found a few nice ones that were 9 years old with some residual backlinks and page rank.

            I have never heard of a transfer resetting the domain in terms of SEs, I thought that only drops were affected.

            I find a lot of great, affordable aged domains (some with existing traffic) on DNForum.com. It's probably one of the best communities online for finding decent domains, sold by people who are reasonable with their prices.

              Another vote for freshdrop here. I used Sedo for awhile, but freshdrop is just so much easier to use. And yes, the closeout section is great.

    You can get some good ones from TDNAM Firesale Tools - Closeouts - Freshdrop.net. Then, use DomainPageRank.com - Check your PageRank, detect Fake PR, Alexa Rank and Backlinks to verify PR. The "Fake PR" filter is not always accurate.
