Clickbank recurred billing... ONLY $1.00 ?

Warriors,

Recently I called into the Clickbank headquarters and they updated me on their new recurred billing price point. From what I understood you can now set up a digital product or service and start the trial for a minimum of $1.00 for 3 days. My question to you is, would anyone recommend starting this low or should one consider starting at $1.99, or even $2.99 for the trial? Also, what would be an effective measure of testing the results?

Cheers,

There are many online marketers who offer a 14 day trial for just a buck and they are very successful. One of them is Ben Hart (Google him).

Last I heard he was doing about $40k/month and every subscriber starts off with a buck.

I am not a fan personally of the 1 dollar trial. I am sure it gets you a few more sign-ups, but does it actually make you more money.

People need to see value and when I hear 1 dollar, I think of "Dollar store" junk. On the other hand, when I see that something is worth "2997.00" but the are giving it away for $7 dollars, it makes me cringe as well. If you show people value, you will get sales. Look at the top sellers on CB. Usually they are not cheap products.

The last concern I would think it to your affiliates. Unless you can provide some evidence that this system works to make more money, you will find less people willing to advertise for you I would think. Again, there are many more experienced marketeers that have ran many test to see the impact either way. I look forward to thier replies.

So there is someone out there doing $1.00 and making money, however I can see where it can be hard on the affiliates. A lot to consider. Thanks! Would love to hear more on this as there are always tricks in numbers.
