I need a step by step process/blueprint. Can't stay focused

I am having the most terrible time with IM right now.
I'm all over the place I can't just stick to one thing and follow it step by step. I'm always distracted by the next best idea...

I am on a 1 more domain budget...that's it. I want it to be a profitable project this time, somewhere I, and motivated discouraged IM newbie can actually make some money and make something happen.

I know I can do it...

I make a sale a weekish between all of my websites, and it's time to step back and focus. I don't want to work on these existing websites..I want to start fresh and really pull something great together, something to make myself proud.

I need a good...step by step routine/blueprint that I can follow...every step of the way, every day, putting forth the effort to make my first 1000 online. Putting in a couple hours per day since that's all my schedule allows. I just need to make that first 1000, so I can repeat the process that worked for me.

It's almost like I put TOO much effort into things, or effort in the wrong places.

I need a process I can just follow...Something that keeps my brain focused and in gear.

How about - don't get one more domain, make one of the ones you have now work for you.

Friend...The best step by step workbook that has worked for me was The Newbie Workbook by Bryan Zimmerman. I highly recommend this step by step guide.

I'm not getting paid to say this at all. I promise you on this. I've been where you are at, but the workbook has helped me focus and start making some consistent money.

You can find it in the WSO section. Here is the link to the WSO:

Get Lisaann's course. You will not regret it. She currently has an WSO atm.

Its the best step by step course on the market (IMO) to build a website and to generate traffic on a consistent basis.

Go to her WSO and buy it. Although I am an affiliate, I am not linking my affiliate here...as I dont want to sound biased. Buy it directly from her.

If you can't stay focused, what makes you think you'll follow through on a step by step blueprint?

If you can , there's a great no cost approach here in this thread from Zeus66

    http://www.warriorforum.com/main-int...o-excuses.html

Simple, short steps, should be feasible even for a ADHD addict.
Start there. Build your blogs one at a time, whenever you have the couple of hours.
    Get these earning.

Or, go back to running back and forth without getting anywhere.

Write out a list of all your domains and then underneath each one, answer the following questions...

      1. How much money did it take to get this site Online?

      2. How much time have I invested in it so far?

      3. What is this domain's primary purpose?
ie. ad traffic income, eBook sales, lead generation etc.

      4. Has it yet generated more money than it cost to produce?

      5. What is the profit / loss so far?

      6. If this were another person's website and they PAID ME to review it for them.. what is the number one thing that I would say was missing from the site in order to make it more successful?

      7. What is the number two thing?

      8. Can I add / fix those two things in less than two hours?

      9. Do I honestly believe that by doing those two things that this site will make more money this year than it cost to build / run etc.?

      10. Should I keep this site / or do the number suggest I should dump it?

Friend, you need to get honest with yourself. We are all in business to make money - don't believe your own BS if you try and tell yourself otherwise. It's business or charity. Which is it.

Here's a phrase my old mentor taught me... "The numbers tell the whole story."

I haven't even asked you about the numbers. What would you say if I did?

      - How many unique visitors did each site get last month.
      - Was this more or less than the month before and so on?
      - How many people subscribed to the "list"?
      - How many of them downloaded the free report?
      - How many of them clicked the links IN the free report?

How can we possibly tell you what to do when you don't have the numbers?

The numbers tell the WHOLE story.

      - Paul Barrs

PS. Here's the key. Each website you create has one month to produce profit (or attain it's purpose). If it doesn't then leave it and move on to another. Learn from your past mistakes and try again. But don't dwell on it. Not everything you do will work.
Very good post Paul but what if someone opts to enter a very competitive niche that can be richly rewarding but will often take much more than a month to produce results?

    My friend,

Do some research and find out what works for others and try it out yourself. Once you are convince that the method works, you can focus on it and scale it up. Alot of times, we fail because we are not consistent, not that the methods are flawed, it's just that we don't have the patience and consistency to sit down and just do it, day in, day out.

In the past, I have also been trying to do this and that, until I realize what I wanted, then I ask myself what should I do to get that and finally do it. I am still starting out so I cant really say i am making alot on the internet, but I can say my plan is working thus far and as long as I keep doing it, I should reach my goal in 3 yrs time. (yeah, big goals don't come easy, you have to be patient and stick to the method that works)

Friend - Paul says "Each website you create has one month to produce profit (or attain it's purpose)"

I am saying that some niches will take longer than a month but he may be building a specific type of site where a month is sufficient time.

Gotta fill you in on the truth, man - there is no "step by step routine" or a "blueprint" to make money online. If there was, it would work the first time and work every time. But you will always still have questions and you ask and ask until people lose patience with you, then you go right into a buying cycle until you find the answers to those nagging questions.

However, just keep trying until you finally crack the code. It's been over two years and I haven't cracked the code, but I have made money online. Nothing to say "f*** a job" over, but hey I still made some dough.

This step should help - try this for one week and see if it makes a difference: Don't open any IM related e-mail and don't get on any forums for the whole week.

Knock yourself out on Saturday and go crazy with them if you like (I don't recommend it though), but stay away from IM e-mails and forums for a week and you should see a marked improvement to your productivity as long as you have created a plan of action and you focus on accomplishing that plan.

My guess is your hard-drive is full of step by step plans - choose one (just grab the last one you bought) and follow through to completion.

My best advice would be to create your own.

Pretend you're teaching someone else what to do and how to do it. Since you have to explain it to them, you have to write out all the steps to take.

Then type it up and post it and check off each step as you do it.

I make this suggestion as this is what worked for me. With the steps in front of me, I was able to see exactly what to do. And then I did them and put a nice little check mark next to each one as I completed it.

I also gave myself added incentive by requiring a bright red un-smiley face on the square for that day on the calendar. I really hate putting an un-smiley face in bright red on the calendar because that means I didn't do something on the list. And once I did one thing, it was easy to do more.

First the requirement was that I had to do at least 1 thing a day towards my goal (write 1 article, post 1 article or blog snippet, etc.) or I had to put the red un-smiley face on the calendar (posted where everyone, including the cats, could see it).

Often, once I got going, it was easy to do a second thing. Once I got in the habit of doing 2-3 things a day, I made a rule that I had to do 5 things or my calendar got a red unsmiley face. Piece of cake.

Doing this, I was able to find the bare minimum that I could actually accomplish after a long day at work and a number I could challenge myself with.

The other thing I learned by doing this, was that I already knew what to do. Explaining it as if to someone else made that clear. Then it was just a matter of actually doing it. Having the red un-smiley face let me know if I actually did anything or not.

Often the problem is thinking you need more information. Trust me, unless you're a total newbie, you probably already know enough to do something. If you are a total newbie, spend a week on this forum reading everything and making notes. Pick ONE plan to follow and then go for that (autoblogging, XFactor's adsense program (there are a bunch of related threads from InternetMarketer99, and KKChoon you can also check), affiliate marketing, whatever).

The other problem (at least for me) is inertia. Getting started can be 90% of the battle. Once I get started, I usually get energized and get a ton done. It's getting the first task started that can be the brick wall.

One suggestion, get a magazine related to your niche and open it next to your computer. Don't get a current issue, get a really old one. Then rewrite one of the articles. You can also get the table of contents from a related Dummies book from Amazon or the library and write a post about one of the bullet points or sub-chapters. The other way to get going is sign up for Google Alerts, look at one of them when you get home from work and then make a comment about that particular alert. It gets you going.

And if you have the blueprint in front of you that you created, you already know if that this particular article needs to go on your blog or if it's time to post it to eZine Articles. Or if it's time to add some more to your drip feed on your blog, or whatever.

I also created several tracking spreadsheets in Excel so I could immediately tell what needed to be done. I set a schedule and stuck to it. Having the threat of a red un-smiley face looming over me helped me stick to it. (Of course, working at a job I loathed helped a lot. But it was the red un-smiley face that really did it )

You sound exactly like how I use to be not so long ago.

YOU are your worst enemy and I think you know it...so what can you do?

    Stick to 1 thing.
    Do keyword research
    Focus on SEO, backlinking etc
and work on your 1 site everyday, writing articles, making products, watever you you need to do.

Dont think about the money. Just work hard for 6 months without looking up and you will find success if you do your keyword research correctly.

It does work trust me! You might be making a few bucks a month at first, but keep at it and it will multiply.

    Good luck.

The no.1 problem with internet marketing is that it is so easier to go from one thing to the next and never really focus on anything properly.

I was in exactly the same boat. My business partner and I have over 20 websites and we were working on all of them at the same time....it just didn't work.

When we focused on just one website that's when the money flowed. It was amazing actually.

My suggestion would be to pick a topic you love and make that your website. Of course you need to do the research and make sure you can make money from it if that is your goal but if you choose something you love then it will work so much better. At the moment you sound like you don't have any passion to work on those websites but if it were something you are really interested in, it will becoming much easier to stay on track.

Put all your focus into it and don't deviate. Add fantastic content that helps people and keep working at getting traffic to your site. It will work!

But you most stick to one until you start seeing result then you can move on from there.Am in your shoe and this exactly is what am doing now is really helping me.

I just want to thank everybody for their input. I'm certainly going to give back once I get on track. I work full time outside of internet marketing....I'm always on here at night lol.

Somebody mentioned that my problem is that I'm not passionate about this. But really I am. It's not that I don't have the patience to work on one particular website, it's just that I always think there's something better I should be doing.

I realized from alot of the responses that I DO in fact have all the knowledge I need to succeed in the internet marketing trade, I just need to put forth every step of the way, everything I've learned onto ONE PROJECT and just keep working at it...

10 little projects at once which is totally killer on my ADD lol...and yes i really do have ADHD, so I think one great project would be great.

I drove 250 visitors to one of my blogs 3 days in a row this week, starting sunday with a new amazing targeted traffic source I just found...ONE STUPID LITTLE POST/LINK and I had hundreds of visitors overnight...I'm going to post a thread with this trick I discovered since everyone has been so helpful I'm going to give some thing back...hopefully I'll get some thanks since I've thanked so many of you warriors.

Keep it coming though, I'm sure this thread is helpful to anybody in my shoes

you are just not convinced yet that the effort that you want to put into what you are doing will actually give you the results that you are looking for.

      until you become convinced that
      *you've got a great idea
*your work and efforts are worthwhile
      and
*that they will give you the results you want

.....you will keep on bouncing from idea to venture to opportunity and back in that whole circle again.
