My Mom Wants To Be An IM'er

So my mother is retired and has lots of free time, and hearing about what I do has made her want to do some internet marketing. She sent me an email asking me to check out some website to see if it was legit, and it turned out to be a scam bizopp rebill flog (which pisses you off when it's targeting your mom!) so I warned her to stay away and told her I'd look into something trustworthy and useful that she can start with.

The problem is I don't remember how I started. I read a lot of random IMers' blogs, read a few random ebooks, and made a bunch of blogs with Adsense and learned through massive trial and error before branching out. But my mom isn't too net-savvy and I don't think she can just piece it altogether like I did.

So any recommendations for good introductory books/e-courses etc. that might be good for a non-net savvy mom, so that she won't mail me 20 questions a day? I'm thinking the Microniche Adsense direction might be good, since that's pretty straightforard, but I'm open to ideas.

Shoemoneysystem.com is something she could have fun with. No affiliation what-so-ever.

Don't mind the Rob Hustle anthem though.

    HI,
Since your area of concentration is Adsense, look at area of interest and turn interest into blogging and adsense then as she grows she can move into web site flipping.

Does she like to write at all?

Why not get her to be your assistant for a while? Get her doing basic tasks for you and teach her one thing at a time - win / win - she learns and you get a bit of free work for a while until she starts doing the same things for herslef?

Adsense site network is a good way to go. If you outsource content you can do everything just clicking buttons. You could teach her to use wordpress, an article spinner and a article distribution service. Trickiest part will be teaching her keyword research.

Tell her to just join the WF and the War Room and put her wallet away. She'll learn more here than from any ebook she could purchase.

That's an idea of its own. Drop down all the questions your mom asks and answers that you gave her. Turn it into a product for other thousands of mom's of this forum.

You will become famous in no time

Another easy way to start is through building amazon sites. Obviously she will need to learn how to build a site etc but the likes of IPK could be an excellent fit for her. Selling physical products always works and going through a course like that in my opinion she can't go wrong if she implements what is in it.

In my opinion tell her to stay away from forums at first becuase when people start they spend way too much time on forums and this is where all the information overload starts. Get her to stick to one thing before she moves on to another.

Thanks for all the tips. I haven't shown her Warrior Forum yet, because I don't want her to be overwhelmed with info, or get addicted to buying WSOs before having a good base, etc.

She does like writing, and I think she would probably enjoy researching different products. So either Adsense or Amazon could work.
