Complete and utter newbie

Well getting your research right is a good start. I would advise spending time reading through the forums and getting to terms with what your about to get in to.

Then act on what you learn. Set up a blog promote a product from clickbank and then start writing articles on ezinearticles. Thats a simple way to start but by no means the best. The problem is your going to have to become overwhelmed with information...I guess thats how you get to a stage where it all just clicks. Well thats how it worked for me. I feel information overload has to happen to everyone because starting with a new method takes time and when learning many new skills.

For example a method might be easy but then you have to know how to create a website, how to build backlinks, how to create a site that sells.

A good product I can highly recommend is thehostiletakeover.com, Don and Jeremy over deliver and it starts off with newcomers in mind! But there will be parts your will get confused with but you can just ask them questions in the forum.

You've made a good start because you're in a good place to learn.
There are lot of people here ranging from absolute beginners to seasoned experts.

You can see what the experts are suggesting and also benefit from the other beginners' experiences.

Don't fall into the trap of buying everything that's offered to you in the hope of taking shortcuts.
Like every other business, "Marketing" involves work and at the beginning that means quite
a lot of it.

Decide firstly what you want to get out of your business whether it's a few extra dollars or a long term income.

Do some research and decide on some possible routes to get you to where you want to be.

Work out a simple basic plan but don't get bogged down with a great big "Master Plan" because you'll need to
adapt as you go along and learn more.

Keep a watchful eye in this forum and find out who people are listening to - the popular members
who others go back and thank etc.

Taking action ASAP is a good thing.
Don't get bogged down in detail.
Get the simple stuff working for you first.

People make money from the most basic simple sites, giving away simple short reports or ebooks
with affiliate links inside. You don't need all the bells and whistles just to get started.

The best motivation is just seeing it starting to work.
If you get the baby steps working first then the rest will follow a lot quicker than if you go for
big stuff too soon and get dis-heartened when it doesn't pay off right away.
