eZineArticles.com Anchor Text Question...How Do YOU Do This???

eZineArticles.com only allows 3-word length links in their bio box.

What about when we want to target long-tail keywords with
4 words (or more)?

I get the dreaded "Excessive Anchor Text" rejection message when my
bio box contains a link that is more than 3 words in length. This is
unfortunate since the long-tail is what we're after many times.

I encountered this problem at the beginning too but when I started to write articles in the 450-500 range they seemed to ignore the anchor text rule.

    Emmanuel,

EZA changed things so that if you want more than a 3-word link you need to write articles longer than 400 words. If you do so, you are allowed to use up to 5 words as your anchor text.

Here's the wording from their editorial guidelines:

Note: Common words are excluded from this word count. Those include: to, is, in, on, it, and, at, by, a, an, for, of
The part about "common words" are words in your anchor text. So "red green on blue" is only 3 words, not 4.

      No problem, glad to help.

It used to be sort of an "editors decision" kind of thing, sometimes they'd allow it, sometimes they wouldn't. When they came out with the actual "rule" change it made it simpler to know that it WOULD be allowed, provided your article was more than 400 words.

Also, as Alexa pointed out, if you do quite a bit of EZA submissions, reading their blog is a good idea!

Was encountering the same problem and each time a put up a longer article i get to use longer anchor.

I guess we don't have a choice but to abide by the rules.
