Offline Market Sweet Spots

I am wanting to ramp up my offline efforts (so far I am great at bartering, but no checks)
In preparing, I agree that there must be higher value sales/products and companies already used to paying for advertising. I have been going over yellow pages looking for companies paying big money for ads, but not showing up on web searches. I have thought of dentists, chiropractors, cpa's, massage therapisits. Are there some others I should look for? Plumbers, roofers, contractors, etc? Wondering if others are willing to share their money spots.

All of the above work. Don't make it complicated, find an industry that isn't afraid to spend money to generate business, and let them know what you do.

Start with one, get a client within it, then move on to the next...don't really want to chase 500 different industries down at the same time, it's all about focus and repeat exposure.

    Cheers,

I think that after you're in marketing consulting for a while, you learn that services businesses tend to pay more on a per-lead basis for marketing vs. retail or food, etc... where the average sale is much lower and the lifetime value of a customer is much harder to quantify.

All businesses need a website so you can keep adding to that list until you can type no more with being bored doing so. What you need to figure out is what type of clients you want to work with and who will willingly pay you on a monthly basis for your services.
