Is a broadcast message or a follow up message more effective?

I was wondering which is more effective for increasing your click-through-rate with e-mail marketing?

1. The same broadcast message to all subscribers daily or
2. Tons of different follow up messages that reach your subcribers with different headlines, depending on how long they have been with you...

  • They are different in their nature and they should be used differently. Follow ups are better used to build a relationship with your list, to engage them into your conversation, sales funnel, etc. Broadcasts in the other hand are better used for time-specific promotions such as temporary discounts, product launches, etc.
