I need a book & sales page review please...

Hi,

Need a huge favor.

I just finished updating a book I created back in '86 and would really appreciate it if someone could check it out and give me some feedback. It's 88 pages.

It would be terrific if you have some experience with teenagers and even better if they are depressed teenagers. You don't have to HAVE teens, but it would help. Having worked with them in the past in any capacity would be good.

You have plenty of quality content there! Make the text table a little more narrow. Add some bold and color fonts to emphasize on important points. Your jpg is not showing for me for some reason.

I would be willing to review your book if you'd like.

As far as the sales page goes -- you definitely need some graphics. Also, I would put up a more attention-getting headline such as, "IS YOUR TEEN AT RISK?" I would also use a bigger font so that it is more readable. Also, an opt-in page as has already been mentioned.

Thanks for the tips so far.

I just reset the font to Verdana (HUGE so Firefox can see it). This makes it really big in IE. Don't know how to please both. Had to leave the table as is to accommodate the larger font in IE. Shrinking it made everything break where I don't want it.

Do people really like using Firefox? I guess I'm just used to IE.

You might have been trying to access while I was moving and renaming graphics. They all work fine for me in both IE & Firefox.

I have 2 images of the book (not sure if I had both when you reviewed the page). Whether or not to have a header seems to be a matter of opinion. Some people swear by having none, while others want them. This is the first page I've done without and it seems bare to me, too. I'll design one and try it out.

Thanks. Yes, I am planning to include an opt-in box as soon as I have something to put into the auto responder. Right now, my main goal is just to get the page up and start promoting it. As the promos start to roll, I'll spend a bit of time doing the opt-in.

Changed the headline as you suggest, with "teen at risk". I like that. Too much verbiage at the top before, so I deleted the first little paragraph. This is my first stab at the sales page so it probably does need work.

Ok. I've made some changes as recommended.

- Added a top banner and an opt-in box.

- Changed the opening so it's more attention-grabbing.

What do you think now?
